I'd agree with that, Pires had certainly developed into a better player in '00.
Boghossian was a very underrated player. Very good player in Serie A for Parma. He was unlucky that Deschamps and Petit were around in the same era as him or else he'd have had a lot more French caps. Candela is another one who was an excellent player in Italy, but again just unlucky that Lizarazu was around at the same time as him in the National set-up.
