I think Villa in todays market is easily worth £30 million.  I would have no problem with the club paying that for Villa.

any chance of getting villa will primarily depend on whether valencia qualify for the CL next season or not.

if so, a more realistic option would be klose, who's available on a free in the summer and is a top class predator.

You know what he said? He doesn't like the English weather, and he doesn't like the Beatles.

You won't see him signing for us anytime soon.

Money talks.

Yes sir, he'd be a great signing. I think he'd adapt well to England too as he already speaks a bit of English and the Bundesliga is quite physical and high-tempo.

Top quality goal scorer.

Unless Aurelio gets over these b*stard injuries, we need another replacement for Riise, who just isn't good enough.
Thing is - who do you sign? Who is good enough, and willing to make the move?

Don't say Bale - he's nothing more than a prospect. Not a title-winning leftback at this moment in time.

If another full-back was to come in i would be quite happy to see Gareth Barry in a red shirt. Very underated player and i can't believe he doesn't have more England caps to his name.

Thats 90m spent on these players. God i cant wait for the summer wizzard is going to be wankingggggggg all over with transfer gossip.

Even by your standards that post is W*nk Welsh! I know there will be money to spend in the summer but £90 mill!!!? That's crazy. I expect Rafa will be able to go out and buy big for one player (such as Villa) and then perhaps a couple of smaller signings + i'm sure he will be able to use any money he would get for players sold (such as Bellamy if Villa came in.)

It's not often that i post a transfers wish-list on here but if i could have three that are realistic (ie. we might be able to afford them and they might want to come) then i would go for;

David Villa
Frank Ribery
Gareth Barry

I guess they would still amount to 40-45 mill and i'm not sure i can believe Rafa will have that sort fo money to spend.

                                 Kaka
                                Kuyt

2 buys Kaka and Alves price £40/50million

No way do we sign Kaka.  In my opinion there is only one player in the world in the same league as Gerrard - and that's Kaka.  Rooney, Henry, and Ronaldinho are all incredible, but Gerrard and Kaka are a cut above everybody else.  Ask yourselves, can we put a price on Stevie?  And could Milan do that for Kaka?

I would LOVE to see them in the same team, that one signing would transform us instantly to the best team in England I think, and probably only Barcalona would have a better team anywhere in the world.  What about Riquelme?  Villareal aren't exactly a club of the same stature of Milan...  He might be attainable, you might say he's a poor man's Kaka, but Kaka is THAT good that I really don't think he'll be allowed to leave for anything.

Problem being, Riquelme is nearly 29, and would cost in excess of £25m.

As far as Kaka is concerned, I'd be happy for us to break the World transfer record to acquire his signature.

Simply a cut above.

And Milan WOULD sell for the right price - just look at Shevchenko.

In excess of 25 million?  ???

He's been rubbish for atleast 7 months now, and is now on loan at Boca Juniors (where I hope he re-gains his form). He has problems with the coach of Villarreal and the club itself. I think any decent club can probably get him for under 10 million easily.

I wouldn't want him, though. You need to build a team around him, and for a club like Liverpool - he's not worth it.

All this talk of Alves is interesting.  People seem to think that now that we have money we can pay the needed price.  We could have paid it before but Rafa said that he was not happy with the price.  Everybody gets so worked up about the fact that we didnt have the money.  I think that Rafa does not want to get a Chelsea/United reputation where everyone can hold us for ransom whenever its obvious that we want a player.

Pay what someone is worth, no more.

I like all of your suggestions though and think that Barry and Ribery would definately be attainable, and i have already said what i think about Villa.

Ribery is sort of a forgotten man with me, i dont watch the french league but he was fantastic in the world cup and looks to have so much ability.
Potentially he is frightening and one that we should definately be looking at signing.

I would love Ribery.  His been good this season but too many times goes missing.  Watched Marseille on Sunday and 1st half he was brilliant but 2nd half disappeared.  Nasri (another talented kid) seems to be playing better than Ribery at the moment.  However Ribery is very good and would be great for the RW.  Not sure he will be leaving in the summer though.  If Marseille make CL he has publically said there is no reason for him to leave.  Going by what happened last summer (he was given death threats when he looked to be going to Lyon), I dont think Ribery will want to go back on his word.

If he does leave its a lottery where he goes.  Lyon will no doubt try and get him, I think Wenger will want to take him to Arsenal and Bayern have publically said they want him with Willy Sagnol saying his telling Ribery to 'come to Bayern'.

Klose is a great player and ive always thought he would be great in the premiership but i think he is close if not past 30 so he wouldnt be on my list for this reason only.
