its on sky sports news .com as well

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that English clubs are very keen on signing David Beckham should he wish to return to his homeland.

Beckham is now in his third season with the Spanish giants, but has yet to win a major trophy.

This has begun speculation that the midfielder could be set for a return to England in the summer.

The rumours were given more credibility following Sven Goran Eriksson's revelations to the News of the World newspaper that Beckham may be interested in a move back from Spain.

Perez hinted that if Madrid were ever to make the England captain available for transfer, he would have no shortage of takers.

He told Real Madrid television: "He is a player that all English clubs are fighting to get.

"But he has offered us and will continue to offer us great football afternoons."

Perez also believes Beckham's playing ability should now be recognised rather then his status as a marketing tool.

"There has been a lot of talk regarding the issue of selling shirts with his name on."

He added: "But people forget he is the captain of the English national team."

Beckham has been a mainstay in the Real team this season and has helped them address an early season slump in form.

Madrid are now third in La Liga, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona but have only lost two of their last 12 league games.

And you know this to be true because ? ........... he did them a favour by signing for £25 million at Real Madrid ? .......... or, despite the fact they virtually elbowed him out the door he told you personally that he dreams of going back to them one day ?

:D

To be honest even if we we're shelling out 100k a week, we'd recoup that in shirt sales easy. Everyone in china wants a Beckham shirt along with the fact we play in red (lucky colour).

But the truth is that he's on his way down somewhat, ok he doing well at Madrid but the style of football there suits the fact that he is getting older and slower, etc.

Nice idea but never gunna happen

He can't dribble so we'll ignore his work rate, passing ability, technical ability, crossing ability, intelligence and set peices.

Good idea yeah... :D

Why sign an ageing slow winger?

How about somebody young and fast, who is dedicated to football and will improve as a player?

Put your OK magazine away.
