Well the way anyone would see that, is you "insisting" he should stay then because you are on board with the owners and Rodgers.

The majority of people on this forum aren't on board with Rodgers staying, even with what the owners have decreed.

If it makes you feel any better I don't even want the owners here, as I believe they are an even big threat to our club than Rodgers.

Anyway, let's keep this sensible, apologies for any insults earlier towards you.

Let's hear why you are on board with Rodger's staying. Is it the owner's deciding to keep him that has convinced you?

Where in my post did I post anything of what you are suggesting

I said that last season wasn't good enough and he was lucky to stay

The owners have decided to keep him and because he is Liverpool manager he gets my support - as do all the players regardless of if i rate them or not

It's not up to us to decide what the owners do nor do I have major issues with them at the moment

What I do know is the ideas they have are good for the club and right now they have started the rebuilding work of the stadium and that's massive compared to the last two decades

There is a lot of potential in the squad and the reserves - a great deal of talent that will get their chance - I think as a coach working with talented youngsters BR is very good - as a manager tactically it's very much hit and miss right now

He has one last season to prove himself good enough beyond being a coach

Just a few more questions though, why are you giving him one more season? Why not two or three more seasons? Why one?  The owners haven't made it clear they are giving him one more season. They could be giving him a whole lot more for all we know.

Also what is your definition of a successful season, this coming season?

Because if BR doesn't do well in the next season then I can see the owners replacing him - so he has one last season to prove himself

A successful season ? - well minimum is a top 4 CL spot

If he achieves that then he will continue as manager - if he doesn't then I believe he will be replaced

It leaves me still being a Liverpool fan continuing to support the team as I make my journey to the stadium.

OK I will let you know that we are at astronomical extremes of support.

So we are going to disagree on almost anything to do with our football club.

You are happy to go and support the side, manager and owners. Year in, year out irrespective of results on and off the field.

You will then become very upset when you hear criticism levelled at the club, it's owners and manager that you think is unfair. And obviously call them "insults".

It will hurt you and you will come on here telling us the same thing and "to get behind the club".

But as I mentioned earlier, we (and a lot more on here) are fundamentally at extremes with your polarising blind faith views. A lot of us are actually more upset at the results this season than the petty remarks that have been levelled towards Rodgers. It's kind of more a bigger deal in the scheme of things. 

We are not going to get 4th this season, or any other season under these owners. You obviously hope we get 4th, just like everyone else including me but unfortunately realistically you know deep down that we have no chance of 4th. Best chance we have is getting into the top 10 based on the players we have and the manager.

As for our level of ambition I have lost my faith in the club because I believe the owners are destroying us with keeping Rodgers for another season. He will do more harm than good and eventually (I hope) will sell up once they realise the club is in free fall. Who knows where we will be then, though?

Im judging the feeling by what I reading through VARIOUS mediums online. Including this forum, other forums, through articles, social media, etc. Various polls have indicated as such. What a daft thing to say that you think throughout the world the majority of Liverpool supporters share your myopic view? 

The club wasn't in free fall last season because we had Suarez. Once he left the descent began. If you think I'm wrong, just wait till you see where we finish next season. It won't be sixth, it will be frighteningly lower.

I'm not speaking from some higher authority otherwise I WOULD NOT HAVE APOLOGISED TO YOU BEFORE because I respect your opinion as much as mine, once you took the time to explain it to me. If anything I am as much as a fan as you are waiting for next season to kick off. But unlike you I don't share you level of enthusiasm  and can only feel a train wreck coming.

Im a bit confused here

1. You asked me what i would do if BR stayed on next season even if the club didnt finish 4th - my answer - continuing supporting the club - that seemed to be the answer you were fishing for ( hence the the little rehearsed speech ) - so my question is what am i supposed to do ? Stop supporting the club ? Is that what you would do ?

2. If you have this bad a feeling about the club - how were you feeling under Souness when we were 6th two years in a row and then went to 8th under Evans . 7th Under GH , how the heck did you survive when we went from 2nd to 7th under Rafa ?? And wow what was it like when we spent £60 mil and went from 6th to 8th ( our worst finish in years ) under Kenny ? Was the club in freefall then or being destroyed ?

3.I dont believe i ever suggested the majority of Liverpool supporters shared my view - you on the other hand seem to suggest they share yours - based on "online mediums" - what about at the games ? What about the fans that go week in week out ? Have you asked all them ?

4. I didnt realise next seasons table was sorted already ? So where exactly will we finish next season ? What round will we get to in the cups ?

5. You are correct - you dont speak from a higher authority - maybe you should take heed of that when you post towards people on here and dont ever tell people to "pipe down" because they have a differing opinion - and most certainly dont ever tell people who they should and shouldnt support in regards the manager - that is not your choice to make - especially when , im going to make a guess here, you dont go to the games yourself.

We are supporters and that is what we do, support! The owners choose the manager (something out of our control) and we support the team. If Rodgers left for another club he will no longer get my support. I would wish him well but not support him. Similarly when a new manager comes in, he will get my support and this is because I am a Liverpool supporter.

It looks like Rodgers will be with us next season and since he is a part of the team he gets my support. The fact he has shiny white teeth and upgraded his wife for a younger one is irrelevant as far as I am concerned.Those that will keep attacking him over and over again and probably wishing us to do poorly so they can say "I told you so" are not supporters so their opinion is about as useless as an ashtray on a moterbike

The season before last BR (or actually the team) did amazingly well and was probably everyone's choice for manager of the year (so lets keep him, he's the best)

Nobody knows how this season is going to go, so maybe we should show our support and stop the bitching before it starts.. C'mon lets wait until at least the 4th game of the season (or

Pre-Season) before we all start to over react.

Oh and don't forget - You'll Never Walk Alone - Kind of what this club has been built on since Bill Shankly was in charge.

I've backed the manager more than most on here but that doesn't mean he should get unconditional support.
The way we ended last season was a real concern (i.e the semi final against Villa, the performances against West Brom and Hull when CL football was still a very real possibility and then the capitulations against Palace and Stoke).
There were stories leaked to the press during the second half of last season about Brendan losing the dressing room and after seeing that YouTube clip of the players dancing around in Dubai hours after suffering our most humiliating defeat in half a century it's pretty hard not to believe those reports tbh.
We needed a big summer this year to turn that all around but so far it hasn't happened, in fact apart from a few tenuous reports in the italian media linking us to Kovacic (a link the Echo have rubbished) we aren't even being linked to any decent players.
On the other side of the ledger sheet we have lost our talismanic captain and are about to lose a player regarded in the wider footballing world as the jewel in our crown to Manchester City.
I have to say at this moment in time I have some real concerns about next season.

The players were celebrating in Dubai - it was a celebration for Gerrard and all his service to the club

And judging by media links ?!? Blimey that's scrapping the barrel

Who teams are linked with is irrelevant
The window isn't open yet FFS - players are on hols or with international clubs yet we have still signed a proven prem international player

If come the end of August we haven't strengthened then it's time to worry but not in the middle of June with the previous season only just ended
