Good first half. In the lead and in control. Got better as time went on. But the mancs need just half a chance to score, especially with a defense like ours. Thankfully, so do we, so we need to score another. Sitting back is not an option anyway.

Agreed, the last two games have been bad enough in the last half hour, I don't need that against Man U and they probably will punish us if we sit back and invite them. Aspas is overwhelmed, I'd sub him early in the second

Just imagine the boost in morale if we won this....maybe the lack of marquee signings has played in our favour, because we don't have players with the added pressure of inflated fees and the subsequent negative press?

We need to get control of this game, we havnt had any sustained possession at all. Aspas needs to come off as he looking ridiculously lightweight out there, id bring on Sterling around 60 minutes to give some support to sturridge.

RVP could have been sent off already. We see the weak link there, and it's his temper. Keep chipping away at that and Mariner won't have a choice.

Aspas has been barged into quite a few times with no avail, but every time he touches somebody they go flying and he gets a call against him. He needs to settle a bit and we'll need to replace him probably on the early side of the second half. We still have enough control in this game, so it will need to be for Sterling so we don't sit back. I hope Rodgers doesn't wait too long to make a sub because he wants to put Wisdom in or anything like that, but we need to keep control of this game. Sitting back in the second half like we have won't work against united.

Probably been our best half this season tho. We really are playing well considering it's against united. If we could continue to push on like this, we could have a very positive start to this season.
