Not happy with Rodgers slagging the kids off after the match as well.
Bit of a kop out that for me.

Despite the fact that he's picked them he finds it easy to "slag" off younger inexperienced players who won't tell him to go f'uck himself, maybe that's why we're signing so many of them ?

I honestly think that he knows he fcked up and it was a way of taking the pressure off himself, or the flak so to speak.

Like ave said play 2 in midfield in any game and you will struggle.

Rodgers is the manager the buck stops with HIM.IMHO he's not going to do it at LFC why the fook was kenny sacked? Because Rodgers is taking us backwards and all this c.rap about it being a long term project is a smokescreen by FSG to do everthing on the the cheap. You may be right but Im not convinced that were going backwards
Theres no doubt that Rodgers wants it both ways: pick lesser players then blame them for not taking the opportunity to shine.
Its clear as day to me that he wasnt committed to a cup run by the team he selected. Im sure he convinced himself that he made the right decision and thats my concern. If he cant see that he fu'cked up then we have a massive problem. Yes, he cant foresee an individual mistake, but he should have known that a team consisting of Wisdom, Robinson, Coates, Allen, Borini and Sterling would have enormous dificulty beating a physical, hungry side like Oldham.
I am playing it down but I am absolutely gutted that we were knocked out by such a team and he shame of it will live with me for a long time. If Rodgers needs to do anything, then its to understand that the supporters will forgive a decent, honest, passionate effort. But we wont forgive a spineless defeat to lowly opponents followed by a cop out and buck passing.
If not a disaster, then this is the closest thing to it

Considering Reinas injured Johnsons injured and Enriques injured im not so sure what other option he had instead of play Jones,Johnson and Robinson. He played Skrtel a first choice CB and obviously see Coates a more natural replacement for Agger. Henderson has really impressed recently and got the backing of alot of people on here to start so i cant see the problem with that and surely Gerrard deserves a rest now and then. Moving forward he started with Suarez, Sturridge and Borini. Our star man throught the season and two of the signings he has made and neither could be described as negative or weakened. He also gave a start to young Raheem and if he doesnt get starts in the cup when do you expect him to get them.

The formation was wrong yeah and maybe should have had another midfielder in Lucas or Shelvey but thats really the only real mistake he made selection wise. Unless you expect us to have an 11 man squad and persist on playing them week in week out.

cant say i was too impressed either at him blaming the younger lads. if he keeps that up then it wont be long before they begin to f*ck him off.
he has blamed one or 2 players who he said were too soft and i doubt he's talking about allen or borini.
maybe its his strange way of motivating them but if you ask me its a day too late and it should have been done before kick off.
anyway we move on.

So you think we are not going backwards? We beat oldham 5-1 last season after being 1-0 down this is not going backwards???? Also first time for TWENTY YEARS that a club 2 leagues lower have knocked us out of the FA cup and last club that far lower than us have scored 3 goals past us since 1956. Yep were not going backwards. It's just my imagination

I'd of had Shelvey in the middle and not played one of either Borini or Sterling.

I have always defended Rodgers ,but this blasé method of blaming the inexperienced team he seen fit to play is really going beyond the pale .
Stand up man and share the blame ,Liverpool fans are nobodies fools ,so to try and pull the proverbial wool over our eyes might just make
his task that much harder .

If the FA cup wasn't in our list of priorities this season he should have maybe give the fans that forked out money to travel believing that their might just
be a trip to Wembley in it for us a slight hint ... I mean ffs throw us a bone ,we're not fucking Swansea fans he's dealing with here.

If he understood the magnitude of the job ,would he honestly serve to deceive the fans by playing that formation and ridiculous midfield and back four ,knowing there was every likelihood that if he did we would lose against opposition we should be beating at a canter .

I honestly hope this is the first and last time I admonish the manager for such naivety ,we're out of both cups now so no excuses for fielding inadequate
line ups......Hopefully we move on from this

Again i agree 100%.

I went to Stoke United and the semi against Everton last season and they were great games.
Especially the semi, one of the best i have been to for how good it felt to win.
Going out of cups cheaply is not good enough.

Kenny treated both cups with respect last season and we seen the rewards.

Like you said lets hope we learn and move on from Sunday.

In defense of Brendan.  I fully believe he thought the side he put out would be good enough to beat Oldham.  In that sense I don't think he disrespected the cup.  I do think he horribly got it wrong in the middle of the park and failed to try to get that right early enough.  The calling out of the younger players is the bit that doesn't sit quite right with me.  However I don't think he's trying to pull the wool over our eyes.  Maybe just a soundbyte to pacify the media?

I agree in the fact that the side he put out he thought would be good enough. That is worrying though, as before the game i called it...that the midfield was non existent.
I dont know what he's playing at calling out the young players he selected to be honest mate.

Dude, calm down. We played with a severely weakened lineup and our GK had a stinker. We got knocked out of a cup by a team that was hungrier than we were, playing at home, in awful conditions, and with a ref who was allowing them to absolutely manhandle our players. I think we are better than last year. There is no magic fix to the situation we have now (manager-wise) and we just need to keep building and accumulating good players.

I'm not so sure that makes it any better. He should have seen the issue with playing two midfielders in front of that defense.

We played Sh*t but to suggest we are going backwards is how blind you really are. You are the new forum wrist slasher.
