I don't believe that the Chelsea fugures include their summer spending and it was a very strange time to finish your financial year, it was done purely to incorporate the money from their Champ league run and win. They will soon be back in the red with this years spending and pay off of the managers and limited champs league football (once they get knocked out)

The money they generated by winning the Champions League has probably paid for their summer signings in all honesty! Chelsea have been highly intelligent in turning their club into a brand, a brand that can be found in all four corners of the Globe.

It is time for FSG to release all the money generated through to Rodgers for him to bring him some attacking talent, otherwise we won't make any real head way. It is in the best interest of FSG to speculate to accumulate - if they don't start doing this and backing Brendan, then I fail to comprehend why they a) brought the club and b) why are they holding onto it?

They' got us out of possible administration 2 years ago and now they do not have the funds to move us forward. And for a club like Liverpool with high expectations because of our rich history, this is totally unacceptable, maybe to a mid table side but definitely not Liverpool. If they are going to be like this next summer, then they must sell to someone who can provide the funds to sign the players we need leave otherwise we'll be a stranded at mid table like now.

...as opposed to playing Championship football or possible non existance that would of definatly happened had they not had the 'balls' to bail us out in the first place. Don't bite the hand that feeds you mate and be very careful what you wish for. They could pull the plug on us anytime they want but they don't, why not? because they own us and want to make us self sufficient/funding whilst keeping us in the premier league and so far they've done just that.

Give Brendan a few quid in Jan/summer and start building on what we have. We're doing all this WITHOUT the champ.league money too...  pretty good job too if you ask me!

Yep.  That could be the case.  It's difficult to get value for money in January.

At the very least we need another forward though.  Whether that's Carroll coming back into the fold or whether it's us bringing in someone else til the end of the season on loan or on a short term deal, we need to do something.

I don't believe that there isn't a single striker in world football who could improve us and is available in January without needing to break the bank.  We just need to look hard enough.

would bringing Carroll back solve anything?  He's hardly setting the world alight at West Spam now, is he?

:Oo:

Don't follow West Ham and our loanees' but isn't the fella just coming back from a six week lay off from a hamstring injury ?

Bit difficult to set the world alight from the treatment room unless you've got a big fu'ck of box of matches, a litre of gasoline and a death wish, but what the fu'ck, maybe you know how Andy could have set the world alight from there but have decided to keep the info on how to strike a match to yourself ?

Maybe not, but it's a long season and Suarez will inevitably miss games due to injury and suspension.  I don't think Rodgers will bring him back to be honest, but if the players we want aren't available til the summer it should at least be considered.

Agreed. Does anyone know when Demba Ba's buyout clause can be triggered? Wasn't it seven million?

That injury was at the start of his loan; he's been fit for two months now and started every match in that time. By all accounts, he's struggling.

Played 9, scored 1.

had a looksy on the west ham boards...their fans are pretty much repeating what we said about the lad last season.  I.e lack of mobility, questions over fitness and poor first touch. Have to wonder what the future holds for the lad.  :(

With a bit of luck he'll bang a few in, keep them up and we'll get 20 million for him next summer...

And that was a late consolation goal when Spurs were winning 3-0. Nothing has changed with Andy. Newcastle must still be p.issing themselves. Good to see the mods are keeping in touch though. Sorry Woof !!

I dont reckon we are goinf to splash the cash in January because realitically all the top quality players are never available then (or at least not often).  I reckon we will bring someone in who will help out and then we will go out in the Summer and get some proper players, unless we can get someone who's contract is out in the summer???

slowly, slowly catch a monkey, rome wasnt built is a day... and all that!!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On
