He'd have to be an idiot to take that job. Di Matteo wins the Champions League with Chelsea and then several months later he's sacked. It's absolutely crazy, people like Roman Abramovich are destroying football.

Why would he be an idiot, he'd only have to work for a few months then get another huge payoff, he's getting good at that.  :D

In all seriosuness I can't imagine him getting on with Roman, but its a joke that they got rid of DiMatteo so quick.

Rafa and Abramavich are too similar.
I guarantee he wont be there next season.
Lets hope he does to chelsea what he did to inter.
B-Rod is awesome!

Mr Rodgers has been brown nosing our American owners today, thanking them for giving him more than five months and a chance to turn things around. The fella and the Owners need to realise that Rome wasn't built in a day and that we are getting better under Rodgers, this season so far has been very encouraging. We're playing good football and we're currently on a good unbeaten run in the league and the future looks bright, I just wish Brendan would shut his cake hole for more than five minutes.

Majority of fans are saying BR is the right man for the job and even though we're lying in mid table, we are a team that is a Work in Progress and need time (Oh no, not that phrase again, we've been saying that about KD for the whole of last season).

But to be honest, I would like to believe that if I think with my heart because we are playing some lovely football this season. But when I put all emotions aside and take a bird's eye or panoramic view of football management of the PL and analyse it objectively, past and present, then BR may not be the right man to lead Liverpool forward. WHy?

Look at our old assistant manager managing WBA now, they are flying high at the moment and are in 4th. Di Matteo (yes I know he was sacked by their idiot owner) took over a Chelsea side who hardly knew his management style and led them to FA Cup and CL glories all within 4 months. Mourinho took over Chelsea in Aug 2004 and won the PL titles 2 seasons in a row. Rafa at that same time took us to CL glory in his first season and finishing 5th. And even Laudrup who has newly taken the job at Swansea are doing better than Liverpool. What concerns me also, our players are better than WBA and Swansea. Now don't you think the sides that those managers took over needed to get used to their tactics? Yet, they didn't need time and had to be a work in progress for a few seasons to see any positive results. So why are we all saying Rodgers need time and we're still a Work in progress? I am not bashing BR but could someone explain to me based on the examples I've given why BR is still the right man to lead us forward despite DiMatteo, Mourinho, S.Clarke, Rafa and Laudrup who didn't need that much time. My heart tells me to expect great things under BR in the near future, but my brain tells me he may not be the right man.

Mourinho is given unlimited budget where ever he goes, DiMatteo was lucky last season and was found out this season, Clarkes doing well at WBA but they wont last the pace, Swansea hasnt changed much since last season and they did quite well then. We had a poor second half of last season and it carried on to the start of this but things are improving significantly, why don't you post things like this at the end of the season when it can be looked at objectively not 3 months into it.

When AVB left Chelsea last year they were only a few points off the pace where as the position they finished at the end of the season was alot worse.

Chelsea has been given money to spend I.E Hazard, Oscar, Moses ETC Brendan hasnt been backed anywhere near as much.

Steve Clarke at WBA is doing a very good job beating us and Chelsea. But ill tell you what alwayslfc ill have liverpool you can have WBA in a bet who finishes higher.

The fact that were a bigger club is the reason in which sometimes we dont get the points. I mean Stoke i dont think would sit back and defend vs the likes of West brom and Swansea. But everytime they visit Anfield thats what they do.

Any idiot can see we are improving taking our chances more and the players getting used to a system. Everyones opinion can change in one game which i have seen alot of on this forum. A win for us Vs Swansea sunday could potentially see us rise to 8th not where we would desire to be but for a team thats apparantly having a disasterous season things are looking better.

I fail to comprehend how any Liverpool supporter can be disappointed with Rodgers's performances this season. I think he's been very good, his tactical grasp and the timing of his decision making is impeccable really, my only problem with Rodgers is that he talks a little too much to the media.

Interesting analysis and you don't deserve the stick you got from the lads here ,but I think your bottom line is wrong ,the only reason BR has failed to deliver this season thus far is his original and only sin ,which is not signing a striker ,this lack of balance is killing us game after game ,but the team as a unit is moving in the right direction.
