it wasnt the fact owen wanted to leave it`s the way he did it, if he would have been upfront like kevin keegan we would have got £30m for him at the time but he kept on promising to sign a new contract but never did, he kept on making excuses like his agent was on holiday etc, his plan was to run his contract down, in the end he went for £11m and the rest went in his wage packet because madrid didnt have to pay top dollar for him.
i wouldnt mind but at the time moores was complaining about being skint but owen didnt give a f**k about LFC thats why he bailed out when the club was in trouble and thats why he signed for united.
