credit to rodgers for picking both sterling and coates for such a big game, against the reigning champions a lot of managers would have opted to play it safe and went with the experience of carragher and downing, especially after a poor result last week.
the game itself was almost a case of deja-vu from last season, good performance but the fates consipired against us again!
i know it`s man city but i cant help feel that we have thrown 2 points away today, city were there for the taking.

I think Brendan made a mistake today, playing Raheem Sterling from the start, as only 17.
Although he played well V Hearts midweek, he is too young to be thrown in at the deep-end against city.
He could not go on any of his runs, as he kept getting blocked off, elbowed in the face by city defenders.

I think his inclusion in the starting 11 was a rush of blood to the head by Brendan.

I thought it was just the sort of decisive positive brave management that we need and has been lacking for a long time. Raheem was close to my man of the match. He is prepared to take on someone twice his size and go for the line. Downing would opt for a five yard back or sideways pass.

I don't know why people are moaning about Sterling's inclusion in the first team, he did more today than our wide players did for much of last season. I don't care how old a player is, if he's good enough, he's old enough to play. Sterling was a constant thorn in the side of City today and was one of many highlights from today's match. I love watching him play because he plays with no caution, he goes out and plays his natural game. Him and Allen have made us a much better outfit, so credit where credit is due, Rodgers has already made his mark. Onwards and upwards.

Lakes, how did this conversation about fans booing BR go to Kenny being dismissed? Most of us had that sinking feeling that he wouldn't be given a second chance based on Performance, not media reports. I think we're just a bit better than believing 'Sky sports news' and rumors by supposed journalists.

Now back to BR, emotions will flow from game to game - but in reality, it is far too early. It won't until the new year that BR understands which of our current crop of players will fit in with his style. I am glad that he came out and backed Skrtel. It's a clear message that as long as you are willing make an effort to adjust your style of play, you stand a chance.

Anyway, for a kid at 17 he had a great game. Toure, considered by many one of the best defenders the Prem. has ever had, didn't know how to deal with him.

Great stuff from Rogers as well. It was very risky to pick both Coates and Sterling as starters, but it payed off.

Sterling was nothing short of sensational. What a talent and what a performance. He's already impressed me more than Downing. Of course he is young and with experience he will get composure and decision making. And when stronger he will be a right handful. I love the fact that he was a constant threat and always showed for an out ball. Pace, trickery and brave. Love this kid. Superb decision to play him and caught Mancini out. Very impressed.

It was risky but it payed off in my opinion the kid is only going to get better with more first team appearances he is young and exciting to watch good on Brenden and Raheem Sterling
