Although he played well V Hearts midweek, he is too young to be thrown in at the deep-end against city.
He could not go on any of his runs, as he kept getting blocked off, elbowed in the face by city defenders.
I think his inclusion in the starting 11 was a rush of blood to the head by Brendan.
Slate me if you like, that is my opinion.

Just out of interest how many more years is he tied down too?

Lakes, seriously don't try to start a discussion on this forum and in turn feed the very media you claim are all over twitter and websites.
feed the media? no i was reporting what was said by the "media" sky sports news.
so we dont talk about what the media report now? in that case Kenny must still be our manager as i have not seen any new manager myself this season as i have not been to a game yet but as i have only seen media reports that we sacked him and got a new one it must all be a lie.

Although you're wrong, let's say he didn't pick him. Who would you rather play then? Downing?
Anyway, for a kid at 17 he had a great game. Toure, considered by many one of the best defenders the Prem. has ever had, didn't know how to deal with him.
Great stuff from Rogers as well. It was very risky to pick both Coates and Sterling as starters, but it payed off.

owen started for us when he was 17, so does wayne rooney. pele won his first world cup, yes World Cup, when he was 17.
there nothing wrong with BR in starting sterling. when you are ready, it is a crime not to start you.
