Liverpool make new check on Sevilla's Alves

Liverpool were represented at Old Trafford yesterday for Manchester United's friendly win over Sevilla.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez had scouts check on Sevilla fullback Daniel Alves, who remains a target for the Spaniard, despite being frustrated in negotiations this summer.

While Liverpool have captured winger Jermaine Pennant from Birmingham City, AS says Benitez is considering making one final bid for Alves before the summer transfer window closes.

Where the hell has this rumour come back from..

Are we that desperate to get alves? We do need another right fullback or right winger but paying sevilla 12 million for him ? i'd rather see us getting a new striker. I dunno.....

I for one hope this rumour is true. Alves is a quality player and I haven't been massively impressed by Finnan so far this season. It's early season I know but just an observation.

I would like it to be true aswell, i was desperate for alves to come until it fell through and imagine our right side with pennant and alves. Unfortunately though this rumour died ages ago and i cant see any truth in it now

Disappointed this one didn't come true.....
An opportunity lost but I guess in principle, Rafa was right.... we can't let ourselves be screwed over by other cclubs....
