BIRMINGHAM CITY VS LIVERPOOL - Sun 4 april - ko: 15.00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

A tactical substitution is one thing but taking the reports at face value means that taking Torres off as a precaution was the right thing to do. The team were still good enough to create (if not take :( ) chances and arguably paid better.

a draw away to birmingham is not an awful result however disappointed we are at this stage of the season

we shouldnt be battling for fourth place anyway and that problem took root a long time ago

Before the game I still thought we might make the top 4 given the run in that City and Spurs have got. With the exception of Chelsea at home I thought we would win all the remaining games.
After today I think it is beyond us. Unless Torres was injured the decision to take him off was baffling.
Equally concerning was the reaction of certain players to the substituion - Gerrard's facial expressions said it all.
If a manager is to be judged on results then come the end of the season it could well be adios amigo.
Today's result in isolation is not a bad one - come the end of the season if we finish just short then it is the defeats at Portrsmouth and Wigan that really cost us.

The top four went to Birmingham and left with a point, but when we do it we're sh*t, and Rafa's clueless. Told you all we'll never make fourth with our away form as it is. A point is a good point here, sadly 4th was well beyond us by now.

You're missing the point by miles lad. Rafa subs the only striker we have at 1-1 with 30 mins remaining. Mcleish takes off a midfielder for another striker. The difference one manager is clueless the other manager is Alex Mcleish.

I swear if we got relegated you'd still back that joke of a manager.

Yeah, you are correct. I'd still back him, but I'm not so fickle to barrate a manager for making one f*cking sub. A manager makes subs for impact, and when Torres came off, we created more chances, so who's right? You? Anyone on here? Give me a f*cking break. Some players, even the best, can have an off day and CAN be subbed.

Any fool can see that the chances created after Torres went off were a natural progression of the game, nothing to do with Ngog. Our pressure was bound to eventually create chances, chances that Torres would gave scored one off at least.

Really Einstein?

Since when is the manager bigger than the club?  He hasn't won a trophy since 2006, it really is time to move on.

Torres walked off at the end with an Ice Pack on his knee - it seems he has got an injury - lets not forget the fact he did f.uck all game and when he went off we actually created more and more chances - poor finishing lost us the game today

Why can't we attack when Torres is still on the pitch? Why can't we use 2 strikers? Torres and Kuyt for example... instead of bringing one striker who can't even score at a brothel. Chances created after Torres was subbed? so... does that mean Torres was responsible for our failures in creating chances? i think not.. Is it Torres fault that Gerrard can't distribute the ball upfront,  Johnson going up constantly, or should i say starting to play attacking football? huh.... this is depressing enough..

4th went out the window 3 months ago. It amazes me how some still clung to the hope of qualifying. Sure maths say it was possible, but form dictated otherwise yet some of you act as if it's only now come as a massive shock and are spitting the dummy. No CL football next season could actually turn out to be to the benefit of this team in the long run. Takes our expectations down a peg or two as well.

I thought we played OK and the draw under any other circumstances would have been a decent result. However, you look at our chances created, under normal circumstances, the draw is a bad result because we really should have buried one or two of the chances that fell. Forget about Torres not being on the pitch. Chances came and they weren't taken.

It starts with Aqua had a virus ..twice, then the ankle injury, then no injury only 'mentally unstable' and now Torres injured his knee.. i don't know , well we all can see the expressions on Torres and Gerrard's faces during the substitution... and now, i don't know what to believe.

Then examine the evidence for yourself and go watch that Benfica game. Did you not see the hack from behind he received?
