Liverpool Football Club - Games

Absolutely hate these early kick offs and especially after an international break.

                      Ali.

Trent       konate  Virg    Robbo.

                     Fab

            Hendo    Elliot

    Salah        Nunez      Gakpo.

Hope we raise our game enough to beat them but I'd settle for a point.

Cmon the pool!!

This is a pivotal moment. The boys have all had a nice break, people coming back from injury with some out for the season, they all know what is at stake and have had time to get their head round it. We are favorites to lose the match and all seems against us winning. Sky predicted we would lose 2-0. That said, I think the boys will show up and we will beat those cheating feckers.

We are going to be up against it but that's often when we are at our best.

We haven't won at the Etihad in the league since 2015. Wouldn't say no to a draw.

If they manage to put us under any sort of sustained pressure I think we'll concede and probably concede a few actually so I think it's important that our forwards and midfielders give them something to think about the other end.
if it's one way traffic I can see being a long afternoon. Just hearing Harland is out which is something but Alvarez is a very good player in his own right so it's going to be difficult no matter what. Just seen our team no Nunez as well, he's on the bench and Jota starts which is a strange one for me given Jota has looked well off the pace since his return from injury.

Liverpool team news:

Liverpool team to face Man City: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Elliott, Gakpo, Jota, Salah.

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Milner, Firmino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Tsimikas, Nunez, Arthur, Matip.

Be interesting to see how Jota fares in this kind of game - more open than usual as they will never sit back like 90% of our opponents.

It’s been cagey between the two teams, our press is soft and without intensity but probably by design as Klopp doesn’t want us exposed and they seem to be looking to play through the press. Still all to play for. Grealish is becoming a player I don’t like, he should be at ManUre.

Before conceding I thought we were near the end of the half while it was only like the 25th minute, that's how tiresom City's pressure was and I can only imagine how tough it must have been on our players. We can't compete with them toe to toe, they're simply better all around. Defending as good as we can and then hoping we get them on the counter is the best we can do unfortunately.

Game over. Let's hope it's not a thrashing as they could rout ya here.
