Liverpool Football Club - Games

Just unbelievable he could take Torres off. Of all occasions to pull that one out the bag, not this game, not when our season depends on it.

No champions league football for a year-and-a-half? :no

We've come full circle under this manager.

that said taking off Torres for anything other than an injury just makes no sense at all and an injury doesnt seem likely

Or if he was just playing sh*t or could be playing with a niggling knock he picked up against Benfica? He was kicked stupid in that game, but some seem to have forgotten about that on here. Anyway, we created more when he was off the pitch than when he was on it. We really should have won, and I agree it's not this game that's cost us. It was the previous 15 or so away games before it.

ER... look at Torres' expression.. he was fine! he shook his head on why the Rafa is taking him off?!

So?

lol mate stop trying to trying to defend the indefensible

A point is a good point here, sadly 4th was well beyond us by now.

You're missing the point by miles lad. Rafa subs the only striker we have at 1-1 with 30 mins remaining. Mcleish takes off a midfielder for another striker. The difference one manager is clueless the other manager is Alex Mcleish.

I swear if we got relegated you'd still back that joke of a manager.

That's what I don't get, why on earth take off Torres? Maybe he took a knock and Rafa took him off as a precaution.

Well at least the curtain has drawn on it all now.Benitez should have dealt with long ago when all this was on the cards but we left it alone and its ended as expected. I mean replacing Torres with half an hour left to play, absolutley amazing decision yet somehow you half expect it.Its as if he wants to be the guy that takes all the plaudits and is happy to take hellish risks to prove hes a master tactician but inevitably it backfires. Anyways its hardly a shock and the task now is finding his replacement and for Rafa to seek employment elsewhere.

With Torres ON the field, some of those chances may have been converted into goals.

mate the look on his face and the other players faces tells you there was nothing wrong with him.

All I seen was a slight shake of his head when he was coming off. That's not any kind of indication to make bold assumptions on. Of course it's the usual whenever that sub was made it was always going to be used as some kind of excuse. You'd think they sky is about to fall FFS. Even on the stream I was watching, the commentators made complete c*nts of themselves by saying it was the Liverpool supporters that were bo'ing the sub, then were promptly reminded in their ear that N'G'og took a dive against them a while back and that it was the home crowd that were doing it against him. Again, jumping to conclusions always makes people look like clueless knobheads.

Did the subs make us play better in the last 20 minutes? MAYBE.
Would Torres have got into the right positions to have those chances (which Ngog had)? PROBABLY NOT
Would Torres have buried those chances? YES.

2) Get 20 mil
3) Go to R.M
4) Buy SG, Torres and Mascherano ...

Yeah, you are correct. I'd still back him, but I'm not so fickle to barrate a manager for making one f*cking sub. A manager makes subs for impact, and when Torres came off, we created more chances, so who's right? You? Anyone on here? Give me a f*cking break. Some players, even the best, can have an off day and CAN be subbed.

Any fool can see that the chances created after Torres went off were a natural progression of the game, nothing to do with Ngog. Our pressure was bound to eventually create chances, chances that Torres would gave scored one off at least.
