RYAN BABEL to join Hoffenheim

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ray Pugh » Thu Jan 07, 2010 3:36 pm

The 3 things about Babel we will never know:-

Is it Rafa's fault he is no good?
Is it his own fault he is no good (i.e. bad attaitude)?
Could he actually become world class?

1 thing we do know:-

He will never play much under Rafa

Therefore SELL ............ Simples

Is it Rafa's fault he is no good? Possibly
Is it his own fault he is no good (i.e. bad attaitude)? Definitely
Could he actually become world class? If all the other players caught the plague!

Birmingham have just signed Michelle from S.Gijon. Not sure if they will be coming back for another bid on Babel.

Is that because they player isn't for sale, or an age old trick to force an improved bid......................? Every player has his price, how many times have you heard a player is "not for sale" and shortly afterwards the right button is pressed and off he goes? At the end of the day Rafa doesn't own the club, if the owners see a sizeable bid and decide it is worth accepting then I'm sure Rafa won't be able to stop it.

for those wondering about the 'no money to spend' stories... it was reported in various papers a week or so ago that the owners would not be increasing any budget for signings regardless of player sales. any money made from sales would be held back until the summer and the deal for maxi rodriguez would be about it. unless there were any more mouth watering freebies out there.

not sure if there were any direct quotes or not but there you go.

They are probably holding back the money to see how the season goes before releasing money again to Rafa in the summer, if that's the case I think it's a wise and logical move.
