If that's true it's madness.

There holding out for more to pay off the loan,

Id rip your hand off tbh with 9 million if i knew Rafa was gonna get it , but hes not so whats the point, Theyll get the money plus save on his wages

I reckon that Yeung guy will fork out a mill or 2 more. Makes all the difference really, could go towards wages for a big name player or new contract - Pepe or even Masch.

I just hope it doesn't backfire and we don't get any more bids from anyone.

As i said though Bav wouldnt matter because Rafa is not gonna get any of the money even if he is sold, So feck  him

Yet again, what makes you say that ?

The fact that we spent 40mill on new players + renewed contracts and all that while selling players for 35mill in the summer ?

Or maybe that we spent 42 mill last season and got back 32 mill from players sold ?

Or maybe the season before that when we spent 70mill on new players and sold player for 29mill ?

Point is, Rafa has always had the money to spend... Even when the owners supposedly hold back, we end up spending at least 40mill on new players...

My opinion is that whatever we make from player sales in this window, ADD 10 MILLION TO THAT, and you got the money Rafa has available for new players...

Brum have come back with an offer in excess of £10m according to BBC rumour.

If true then, in rejecting the initial £9m offer, this is a masterful piece of work by Rafa :;):

Thank god that there are still people out there who think he's good enough. We may well recoup close to our buying price yet.
Will we get to re-invest whatever funds we get for the wastrel though? I think not and letting babel go now will weaken the squad further..

albeit by an infinitesimal amount.... So get rid, I say..... :D

Maybe, like a few on here, there are some people out there that think he will blossom into one of the best strikers in the world once he's free of Rafa's death grip.  I'm not holding my breath.

i think if ANYONE comes in with an offer of 10mil+ and we are allowed to spend the money then bye bye babel, nice try son but not good enough

babel 10 mil
vor 1.5 mil
dross 4.5 mill

total 16 mill plus a huge chunk of wages saved

if we do get maxi on loan at no cost other than wages (with a view to a full signing ) then we will have that 16mil to spend on a player ( a striker i think we need )

and if you ask me THAT would be a great transfer window

I agree but.........will he be allowed to spend it.
Reports I read from Tony Barrett (echo or daily post) suggest not.

Babel has scored some important goals and played well in a few sub appearances but he hasn't performed well enough in the majority of games to be honest.

His attitude has been poor and he seems to lack confidence.  Does this mean he's not a good player? No not necessarily.

He has shown in glimpses what he can do but given a good run of games with a bit more confidence you just might see a different player.

Kuyt has been woeful this season yet he started virtually every game.  Why? I have no idea how Rafa can justify playing him on current form.

Babel should be given an good opportunity to make the RW his own, not 10 mins here and 15 there but a good run of games.  While Rafa is the manager that's not going to happen though.

If Rafa won't play him then it's best to sell him.

I too have read that post and perhaps the fact that AJAX (Suarez) and Galatasaray (Turan) are being quoted as interested parties is becuase rather than sell Babel we are looking to a swap deal?

That way no money is changing hands for the yanks to get their paws on  :idea

I wonder that if Brum offer the most money and Rafa accepts who we would swap with them for Babel.

The young lad Danns at the back (Eng U21 player) has been getting rave reviews. Can play CB or RB by all accounts. Can't think of many others I would take from Brum.... Seb Larrson maybe
