Hi there speechless really ... I just posted these views after the ''Pompey v Liverpool topic .... perhaps its better said here.

I would just like to say that when I have ever posted 'probably' rather scathing views on rafa and his management skills people like ''Benny the noon'' ''Ciggy'' and ''Nanny'' have been very quick to 'put me right' as they say.

I have been saying this for months 'Rafa' is a poor manager with a crop of players who 'wanted' with pure desire and determination to 'win' wearing the badge of Liverpool with utmost pride.

Looking at the Liverpool team now they have no desire, no idea, no guile, no heart, no plan, no aim, no object, no goal, no intention, no intent, no purpose, no point.

Perhaps now that our team has lost its 'heart' Mr Benitiz is being seen for what he really is?

i dont hate Rafa and i will feel sad for him if he is sacked, but he is not the man to turn this club around, but i do fear that our owners have no idea of who to put in as manager and thats why Rafa is still here, its making me think tht there is truth in the press room report last week that the owners are holding off untill a manager get a contract sorted before sacking rafa., if that is the case rafa miught be with us for weeks yet, or things might have moved on and they sack rafa tonight and put sammy in place for 2 games untill the new manager comes.

going by the radio our fans were calling for Rafa to be sacked at the end of the game and on the way out, it might just be the press saying that so we need to hear from someone from the game.

We have missed Alonso ( and failed to replace him )

But what are the other factors?

I really don't want to hear Xabi Alonso being used as an excuse. Influential he may have been, but he wasn't that influential.

And as far as our current form has been this season, does anyone actually believe that Bentez is that poor of a manager, or has ever been that poor of a manager, to grind the team down to where they are at now? Let's be rational about it. He isn't that bad of a manger, and our players and overall team isn't as bad as the form that it's showing. There's a bigger picture being painted, and nor I, or anyone else for that matter, can see what it is. Rafa is guilty for a fair bit of it now this season, as he really should be doing better for what he has at his disposal, but this has been a long time coming. Once you get one liar in a relationship, nevermind two, then things are going to go very sour. It's innevitable.

There is no point in sacking him if you do not have a replacement ready..

Whether the 2 clowns could identify and afford someone who could do a better job is questionable.

That was/is the most miserable outfit I've ever seen play for Liverpool. Too many players on these boards have been defended by idiots over the last few years never mind the manager. The club has a rot..... the custodians. Equally as important the team has a rot...... Benetiz. I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt in hope something will change for the better. But the petulant and woeful performance by certain players who are never in a million years worthy of wearing the shirt of Liverpool have tested my patience.

I read a lovely article in the Bangkok times today about Bill Shankly and it basically highlighted everything that Rafa isn't. Get rid, clear out the dead wood thats been accumulated and begin another "five year plan" or if we're compairing with Fergie a seven year plan. :(

Absolutely disgusted with the body language, lack of cohesion, loack of composure, lack of effort etc etc the list goes on, the rot has well and r\truly set in at team level now.

I still trust Rafa, if I'd say otherwise I'd lie, but I can't defend him right now, to be honest.

Even if I think he's a great manager, I also understand that top clubs cannot be without silverware for long, and that negative results like this can bring a sacking.

I think that lakes10 is right when he says that if it was another club he would have been already sacked.

I trust him because I trust his knowledge, but let me be clear, this situation cannot be defended.

It's very frustrating to see some improvement with Carra and Agger, and seeing Mascherano getting better in the last games, only to watch a sending off of the midfielder that can give some consistency to our midfield. Lucas cannot do that with 11 men, let alone with one man less.

But it's Rafa who has put that faith in Lucas, it's his decission, so he's the one to respond to that.

Sacking him now won't improve anything. There has to be a plan, and there is no plan. People who think that by sacking the manager is going to miraculously cure us have their head up their holes. There is a problem with our club throughout, big problems, and it's not just with the manager. A plan needs to be in place. A manager has to be lined up and then brought in with the assurance that he's going to be supported with both funds and the backing of our best players. Realistically, can anyone see this taking place? I can't. Then who, I ask, is this the fault of?

People are obviously angry and frustrated but mostly confused with whats happening.
Rafa must take the majority of the blame for this with his tactics, formations, press statements and player selections
The question must surely be would any other manager, with that squad, be able to do anything different?
If so why?

The yanks need to raise money to convince the banks that they can repay the loan.

I have heard concerning stories about how UEFA had to be convinced that we were financially viable last year.

Plus , if they did decide to say adios amigo , there is the small matter of his lengthy contract to be settled

There were no fire whatsoever in the players. We are so far out and Rafa still not trying to put the best team on the field.....Lucas and mascherano just doesnt cut it. Before the sent off, I thought mascherano played well. Lucas tried hard but just not good enough. Our left side was horrible tonight. Insua had lost an edge. Dossena was without a clue. If Rafa not going to play Aqualinil, he should put gerrard back in the middle and have beni playing behind Torres. We had no width today but we still just bomb the ball up front without a target man. The strategy was just wrong. When a player not playing well, you have to let him know. Not just blindly stick with the player. Who knows, the sad fact is that the only loser is the fans. If Rafa is gone he will take his money and other teams are lining up for his service.  But the yanks are so cheap that they can't pay the departing fees for Rafa. Therefore the most likely scenerio everything will remain status quo.

This is so frustrating as we got the best fans in the world and somehow feel like we are being cheated....Sigh....
