RYAN BABEL to join Hoffenheim

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

He either cant or wont try harder. A useless waste of space who has wasted far too much of our time. If he hasnt sussed it by now he never will. That miss last night sums him up. Too casual or apathetic to get his foot to the ball to score the goal that could have kept us in the game. He is far too comfortable being thought of as a second stringer who must have no pride and definitely no passion.
Yet another piece of deadwood...

One thing Liverpool fans have not tolerated is players who don't even put the effort in.

Last night wasn't about effort, it was about his staggering lack of ability to make a decision on the pitch. I've never, seen any player think so slowly.

Well I was on nights last night and couldn't get to watch it.

The comment about his lack of effort still stands though.

Voronin's stoic response was the same.

All players should be fans also, or fuck off.

I agree
A player shouldnt be judged by how he responds to a team mate scoring. After all who's to say at that very moment he hasnt got an incredibly itchy ar'se or is thinking about what he would to to Cheryl Cole given half the chance?
No
He should be judged by what he does on the pitch.
Babel:
Guilty of masquerading as a player who wants to play for the best club in the world
Be off with him...

I doubt Babel's talent as well as his passion. Scatch that, I don't doubt, I know - we know - he isn't good enough. There's no other way to paint it.

We should be very glad to have characters like Pepe in the team. He is one of us.

He is still a very fustrating player but that was a top class goal last night. If anyone has a chance to step up amidst all these injuries its Babel. I hope he starts against Birmingham in that central role where he was last night.

Babel last night showed us the story of his career. He has that flash of brilliance that gets everyone excited... then he goes back to being :censored: again.

I wouldn't worry cos last night showed that Benitez has lost all confidence in Babel and knows he isn't good enough, in the past Babel would have started games like last night.

He'll be gone in January, interesting to see how much we actually get for him though, another Cisse situation I think  :(

Difficult to disagree with that.

Seconded.

A brilliant goal followed by a pathetic freekick in a dangerous position which went out in the opposite side to a throw in. And then a neat one-two where he ends up dragging his shot completely wide from a good position. Frustrating as always, but he so nearly was the hero of the day .

Thing is though, if as looks likely Torres has to go under the knife, we might HAVE to depend on Babel as the only striker. What are the alternatives ? Voronin ? If RB plays him again, I will personally fly over there and bate seven shades of shyte out of the man....
Eccleston is just a kid and not ready.
Eggnog would offer more than Voronin, and having scored twice in recent games, was a helluva lot more likely to get a goal than that pox-ridden Ukrainian

Rafa has said he doesnt think Torres will need an operation. And if he does actually need one then it wont be until the hernia has actually developed which could take over a month depending on how he trains. By that time we may have Gerrard back and a fully fit Aquilani to balance our attack out a bit?

But part of the problem is he has been such a waste of space the manager has little confidence in him so it's catch 22. I bet it will be back to normal Ryan if he does play against brum, he's played in all but one of the games we've not won this season
