That post is right up there with most of Dazzer's gems, Ciggy...
Whelan is more correctly a fan of good football, and sadly in recent years, we have hardly ever played kwalitee football, for the most part because of the trip Rafa has signed. As much as I hate to say it, sometimes the Manc scum actually DO play a decent type of football, Arsenal too. Our infrequent half-decent displays of footie are so far and few between, it often makes me want to cry :(
Lucas, Voronin, Babel......not one of them capable of a footie clip you'd want to see again and again....

And before you suggest otherwise, I am as big a LFC fan as the next guy

But he loves the mancs so his opinion is irrelevant ex-red or not.  The only ex-reds that talk sense are Thommo, Jocky, Aldo, Fairclough and Kenny they are hurt as much as us fans when we get beat, they dont come out and say on Talk sh!te TAXI FOR RAFA!!!! Like Whelan has done.

Nan, fair dues to ya for being a staunch supporter of Rafa.
BUT, whose fault is it that we are left with such a bunch of replacement no-marks when all those lads currently injured are not available ?
There's no other way of describing it - Rafa has screwed up BIG BIG time on the cr@p he has brought to this club, and the very fact that we do not have a half dozen players capable of slotting in and replacing Torres/Gerrard/Johnson/Agger etc. is 100% Rafa's fault.
The fact that millions have been wasted - and that's the only word for it - on transfer fees, agent's fees, players wages etc. only to see them shipped out when the world and his mother can see that some of these players are Bolton-calibre at best, is Rafa's fault.
I'm sick and tired of hearing about the owners as the reason we are where we are. How in God's name can Wenger for example pick some of these guys up for a song, and for these players to be (some anyway) pure class, when we end up with dross ? Could you ever see Wenger or any other manager spending £7M on Dossena ??
FFS people, it's excuse after excuse for Rafa at the moment...

Excuses......excuses.........excuses ...........Benitez is just looking for f@ckin excuses.  :no

Do you ppl understand what he is saying ? How the f@ck can the hippies still defend benitez.....

LFC is one of the biggest clubs in the world...do you think someone with this type of mentality (coming close) is good enough to MANAGE this club ? Yeah...and i am sure real madrid will be up his alley with that kind of thinking... :p

He should go at the end of this season....(If purslow can somehow get mourinho...then hey...... benitez can go anytime)

Why is it that when other managers say things like that it's "What a brilliant man-manager, taking the pressure of the players", yet when Rafa does it it's "excuses" or "wrong mentality"?

Idiot.

You still wanna go on a "insulting spree"....... you already have 3 strikes....  :D

Now back to footie discussion.....If Wenger, Fergie, Mourinho were to utter this.. you think their fans will just accept it ?  I have to mention these 3 managers because you keep saying Benitez is one of the best managers in the world.... so he has to be judged with the best of them.

If coming close is just enough for this club...then whats the difference between fat sam, harry redknapp, mick brown and benitez ? Aren't they all aiming for the same thing (especially harry redknapp ?)

Sorry dunno if this has been posted somewhere made me laught alot.

Duffen: Brown better than Benitez

Hull chairman Paul Duffen believes Phil Brown's achievements with his squad can be compared favourably to Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.

Brown has performed a creditable job at the KC Stadium since taking charge almost three years ago and led the club into the Premier League before retaining Hull's top-flight status last season.

However, the Tigers have won just three of their last 32 games in the league and the pressure is starting to mount on the former Derby chief.

A 0-0 draw at home to fellow strugglers Portsmouth on Saturday left Hull in the relegation zone as the memory of last season's flying start slowly evaporates.

Duffen, though, feels Brown is being unfairly criticised this season and has no qualms in comparing the manager to Benitez, who has also seen his future at Anfield questioned recently.

"If you look at Phil's squad and what he will do with it this season compared to Rafa, you'll find Phil will come out top in terms of adding value to players,"

"We were written off by everybody last year and told we were going to redefine the expression 'doing a Derby', but we broke all records for a newly-promoted side.

"People use that as a stick to beat Phil with because he over-achieved so much last year."

Still just as deluded with the same thought .

One english trophy between all the managers you suggest and thats Redknapp with the FA Cup two seasons ago .

There is no backing for them to say they are better than Rafa in the english league - they have all finished well below Rafa each year - two of them have been relegated from the Prem .

Agreed you are right but redknapp has always done a good job with what resources he has had imo.Look at the team he has now tho with the same money if not a little less they look alot stronger.I don't think redknapp could ever understand europen football like Rafa far from it but we have a good team not great but a good team IE first 11 we need a manager in to wheel and deal to get those fringe players with as little money as possible and then to play simple attacking football in the league week in week out and put things like CL to back of the mind and focus on getting the 19th.

Way Rafa works I doubt he can focus 100% on the league I really do subbing Benny off in the league 2 times in row when we needed a goal proved that to me with out doubt.
