replacing alonso (one of our top 3 key men) with a guy who wont be fit for the first 4 months

that decision was horrible

also signing johnson hasnt improved us, we are more suited to a solid right back rather than a cafu type...........a cheaper option then spend other money to fill other squad gaps.......

God I've missed your insight...

You are :censored: loving this , arnt yeh lakes , your day of glory has arrived. Im :censored: shocked tbh that so many have jumped on the bandwagon of Get Rid. Mind you i shouldnt be really. An im sorry but i agree with Emerald anyone who boos is a :censored: disgrace an i dont care how long theve been going the match or how old they are . This club needs us more than ever, Were being slaughterd by the media were being ripped off by the clampets an in times of need youve got  :censored: fans booin, YOUR JUST GIVING THEM MORE AMMO.
An Lakes have a look at at some of the forums were lads go the match mate , i dont think there shouting for Rafa to be sacked, OTK. TLW, THE RATTLE, THERE GETTING BEHIND THE BOSS AN THE TEAM.
Now is not the time to get rid of Raffa. full stop

An im sorry but i dont care who i upset on here at the mo im :censored: hurting

Stop trying to control every thing they boo'd cos they was upset with the manager who are you to chose what they should do and what they shouldn't ffs we are all human we all love the club and the day a manager comes before our clubs well being is the day I stop following football.I think we as fans have put up with alot from rafa and this can't carry on.

No. They booed because, like you, they do not have the intellect to understand that no team in World football has everything their own way.

We are currently riddled with injuries to key players in key positions. We were forced to sell the most important player in the squad. We had to replace key positions but weren't given money to actually improve the squad, save for a superior replacement (not supplement) at rightback.

We were cheated out of at least 1 point on Saturday and lost 2 important players to injury last night before Lyon punished some very slack defending.

Now - to you, this might well be the very height of treason by the gaffer. To numbskulls such as DAV, it's probably like Rafa strapping his frail old Granny to the bed, dropping his kecks and shatting in her mouth, before rolling her over and p*ssing in her ear.

But to those of us with a bit of sense know that the boss is not entirely at fault. You see, I have a brain - one that works, too - and I can deduce that this situation isn't where Rafa wanted to be. I'm pretty sure that he didn't attack Gerrard with an axe, Torres with a club and Johnson with a sawn-off shotgun in an attempt to injure them in time for LFC's games.

I'm quietly confident that he didn't think "I know, I'll sign Aquilani BECAUSE he's injured - that'll f*ck the fans off."

My thoughts? Ha - I flatter myself that I have the knack of being able to use the information at hand and guess that Rafa signed him because, when fit, he is the best alternative to Alonso within our price range.

"He shoudl have signed Barry!!!" - He tried, you c*ck-fiends. Barry turned us down, remember?

"He should have bought another striker!!!" - What was the chase of Tevez if not an attempt to improve the front line?

Don't any of you cretins ever realise that Rafa tries his damnedest to find good players but that money is always the stumbling block? Don't you find it slightly odd that we were going after the expensive players early in the season before we'd sold anyone, then all of a sudden - c.£35m better off, mind you - we can't afford to pay £12m for a defender?

Doesn't anything in that tiny walnut you laughably call a brain twig onto the fact that our circumstances might have changed somewhat?

Do any of you thick f*cks truly believe that Rafa WANTS Lucas in the f*cking middle of the pitch and not a World beater?

"Why doesn't he play Gerrard there, then?"

- Okay - then who supports Torres? Where do the though-balls come from, then? Can you IMAGINE the flack the bloke would get for breaking up a 60-goal per season strikeforce? It gives me the willies just thinking about it.

No - you lot keep reading some c*nt in the paper slagging off the man who brought the goodtimes back.

You bunch of ingrate b*stards.

Good post mate, good to see ya discussing footy again.
Did you see Souness after the match sticking the boot in with Klinsman? After the side he ripped apart and took us to mid table obscurity, what a nob.
Great player like but must be said bit of a t!t.

Spending £40 million isnt nothing.

With that £40 million he could of brought in 5 good squad players and he didnt. Rafa brought in England's best right back - yes Glen has turned out to be one of the highlights this season but did we really need him? No.

Aquilani has come in and nobody has seen him either - yes he is injured but we needed a replacement for Xabi straight away not November.

And then we sign a useless Greek centre half - his first game at Bolton summed him up. Useless.

Who would YOU play at rightback, then?

You know full well that if he'd signed a lesser player purely to fill Alonso's position immediately you would slate him for that, too. "Oh, he should have waited and bought the right player, yadda, yadda, yadda..."

Rafa wanted Turner, you dick. The owners said "no".

On a bit of a roll Lando I see  Fair play I guess.

Just out of interest and since you're kind of discussing football, do you think Rafa has made any mistakes at all from the end of last season to where we are now?

I said net spend, yes £40m outlay but we gained more than that in player sales.!!!

Read the post as therefore we spent nothing, nada, zip, zilch & will continue to speand sweet FA whilst those cancerous c*nts own our club!!!!

Yeah alright we didnt get money off the owners - fair enough.

Yet if we gave that £40 million to a manager like Harry Redknapp then I can garuntee you we would of got more for our money than Johnson, Aquilani and the Greek.

Rafa has wasted alot of money while he has been at Anfield and he has also come up trumps with some of his signings in Reina, Xabi Alonso, Mascherano, Torres, Arbeloa and Johnson (not needed as we had Arbeloa) but thats not enough quality of the five years Rafa has been here.

The squad isnt good enough at the minute and thats down to the Rafa and his spending - I'm sorry to say and until Rafa decides that he needs to get a good squad together with players such as Cattermole, Crouch etc then we will always lack behind United, Chelsea and Man City.

I bet Rafa is regretting so much selling Keane, Bellamy, Crouch, Pennant, Sissoko and Arbeloa all good players who can perform at the highest level.

F*ck off you silly sod.

Pennant? How many trees did he pull up? He had a handful of good games but let himself down with his temperament, attitude and constant boozing.

Keane was utter garbage.

Bellamy tw*tted a team mate with a golf club and was very obviously not fitting in.

Sissoko was nowhere near the player he was before, and if you think that he and Mascher in the middle would do us any favours you need help.

Crouch and Arbeloa ASKED to leave. Rafa WANTED them to stay.

Get your facts straight, imbecile.

Its seems quite simple, we cant afford players like Bent and Cattermole to sit on our bench. We dont have the transfer funds and we dont have the wage bill for it, the reason we have players like Ngog and Degan on the bench is because we cant afford a bench full of players on upwards of 50 grand a week let alone the funds to bring them in in the first place.
So the gafa is left with a choise, improve the squad or the team. He recieved so much stick in seasons gone by for to many "options and possibility" buys, buy quality for the first team was the cry fk the squad. So the past couple of seasons he has done just that with buys like Masch, Johnson, Riera and Aquilani. We just dont have the money to be able to spend 20m + on squad fillers and then pay them every week so its inevitable that if we get a number of injurys to first team players we are going to feel it, especially when the teams out of form.
I just dont see how anyone under the current regime could significantly improve squad and first team, which is why Rafa fought so hard for control through the ranks.
Unless there is a manager with a magic wand going I just dont see how bringing someone else in with the same restrictions would improve things, Mourinho wouldnt last 5 minutes with that two blocking his transfers, and I bet if he was in Rafas shoes he would have jacked it in by now.

I'm behind the manager as ong as he is manager, but he's destroying our chances again and again. why, when we have money probs, does he spend SOOO much on a player who cant even play for months... he has signed over 60 players and most of them were useless.

Yes the owners suck, but you cant lay all the blame with them!

Because who were the alternatives? Lee Cattemole for f***s sake. For the limited money that Rafa has to spend (raised by selling players, not by the owners giving) Aquilani was the best option available in Rafa's eyes and after spending big on Xabi and Masch (in our comparison) I'd trust him when it comes to spending big on a central midfielder.

If the owners provided proper funds and didn't force Rafa to sell his players, then we would be in a better position. Truth is, it's the owners fault for bleeding the club dry of any funds from their own back pocket.

So if no alternatives just blow the lot on a crock?

We have funds, we have signed more players than most teams... just they are poor players. And the subs he is doing...madness...

I a, just becoming dissalussioned with Rafa lately, but lets just see what he can do

Since when has Aquilani been a crock? He hasn't even kicked a ball yet for us. Ask the Roma fans what they think of the player, or ineed anyone who knows Italian football. Most are very, very upset that he left. He's one of the jewels of Serie A. To buy a fully fit, on form Aquilani would have probably priced us out as per usual.

What if Ronaldo, or Kaka were injured with the recovery window of a few months. What if their value suddenly dropped because of this and we could afford to get either one of them for dirt cheap?  Would anyone in here be critical of our manager then for buying a class player for under the odds? I don't think so.

Aquilani is not Messi or Kaka, and how can you say he is not a crock as he ahs not kicked a ball yet for us?
what man would buy a player who is injured for months and months when we are in money difficulties?

Someone looking at the big picture rather than a magnified section.
