Sack Him - All Venting In Here Please

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby SouthCoastShankly » Wed Oct 21, 2009 11:22 am

I'm not calling for his head but like i've said before this feels awfully familiar. Houllier went stale and I think Rafa has hit his limit. I would like to think Rafa can turn it around, but by Sunday afternoon it is a huge likelihood we will of lost yet another league game.

At what point do we say enough is enough?

Totally agree Nan, right now we cant trust twit and :censored:. we cant trust them to get a decent manager in, not a chance. all that sh!t circulating about Klinsmann shows they havent got a clue

I also totally agree with Nan and Greaves...  :buttrock

But let me try to be neutral here.

For all those yelling to sack him. Can you guys please be a bit more constructive to the discussion and answer a few logical questions. Here are my questions.
1) Sack him and replace with ??? ???
2) Are you sure abovementioned manager will get the same or better results (over 4yrs) as Rafa with the current squad?
3) Where will money to replace current squad come from? (noting that all managers prefer their own players instead of inheritance frm previous)

Thanks for your kind time to answer these 3 questions so that I may be able to share your views  :)

I have lost all faith in Rafa at the moment - I really hope he can restore my faith in him come Sunday.

1) Not sure, Hiddink would be a dream come true
2) they would perhaps need to get rid of some of key squad members like Babel, Lucas, Voronin, Dossena, Degan, etc etc but I think we could cope.  :D
3) I know no one believed this but money has been made available to Rafa in all seasons bar this one, where we just happen to be in a WORLD FINANCIAL CRISES, let me repeat that one more time so that you guys finally fecking get it. WORLD FINANCIAL CRISES effecting even the wealthy Manure and Chavs.

Hope that helps, I espect I'll be called every kind of name instead of someone acknowledging that I actually answered your questiosn as requested but ducks back, water and all that jazz.

why it will only be wallpaper mate.
if (and i think we will ) beat man u all it means is that we got the points back that we lost to Sunderland . you could say we beat sunderland and lost to man u, we would still be on the same points, we are not going to touch man u in the race for the prem this year and even when we beat them at the weekend its just helping giving us a chance to get into the cl next year.

My 2pence worth

I will always hold Rafa dearly for that night in Istanbul alone not too mention the 06 FA cup but I really am begining to feel he has taken us as far as he can.

Yes we may not have spent anything net this summer but what about the previous 4 summers & Jan windows he's had to get his squad together?

Yes when he came the squad needed a total overhaul but since he arrived we have brought in 67 players & let 79 go. All those players & we still have a squad that is thread bare at best & as far as i'm concerned the buck stops soley with Rafa for this.

His man management skills (or lack of) seems to me to have a really negative impact on the players also. yes tactically he's up there with the very best managers in the world and I actually believe we would have more points than we do right now had we played all our league games against the other members of the so called big 4 as he is great tactically in these games.

If i could offer a suggestion to a decent replacement I would but I can't see any top manager willing to work for Dumb & Dumber but if things don't change soon or we get a right thumping on Sunday then I really fear as to what might happen.

YNWA!!!!
Shankly on boardroom meetings - 'At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.'

it is time to face the facts that if we dont win the next two games Rafa will be gone, and i bet G&H have been on the phone to José Mourinho today.

Thanks for the answers :)
agreed Hiddink would be a dream come true.
and those 5 players definitely need to go, they're cr@p
yes agreed also on point 3, world financial crisis (which incidentally is getting better now *phew*) BUT there were several world class players like Simao and Barry etc Rafa targetted before the financial crisis. Stadium was also promised way b4 the crisis.

there are definitely some capable managers out there to replace Rafa but are they available? will they come? This is my main question which seems to be unanswered by the anti-rafa brigade, some of whom just yell sack and not give a constructive replacement discussionary subject. :)

*edited to add this para*
I am all for changing a gaffer if the situation calls for it and it seems so now. I totally emphatise with those who lost faith in Rafa.
But to me the most fundamental thing for change is FIRST for better owners. And I am completely focused on it.

Spending £40 million isnt nothing.

With that £40 million he could of brought in 5 good squad players and he didnt. Rafa brought in England's best right back - yes Glen has turned out to be one of the highlights this season but did we really need him? No.

Aquilani has come in and nobody has seen him either - yes he is injured but we needed a replacement for Xabi straight away not November.

And then we sign a useless Greek centre half - his first game at Bolton summed him up. Useless.

In February 2007 Hiddink was given a six-month suspended jail sentence and fined €45,000

he would fit right in with our owners.

Would cost a fortune to get Jose.  His on very very high wages and has a contract to 2012.  The money it would cost to sack Rafa and then get Jose in would be too high.

Aquilani was a huge gamble.  £20 mil for a player who has been injured a lot and still not fit for us seems very risky.  Would of preferred to of taken in Sneijder from Real.

lets get one thing right here.
it will not cost us loads of money to get rid of Rafa, you all talk as if he has a hold over the owners where he can be so :censored: and still dont get sacked.

right now he is :censored: at his job, it will only cost us a small goodbye and not the 20mil spoken about on here.

our owners are greedy and they would make sure theres a bloody big loophole so they dont need to pay him off.

we need a harry redknapp type manager one that knows uk market and can in jan work some wonders and get us a team to tackle the prem and get us back in contention with prem.If we all say CL isn't as important as the league then souldn't we want a manager who knows the prem inside out ?

Other managers I take a pop at are peter reid , Glen hoddle , zola , or even Steve bruce cos lets face it those managers know our league inside out.
