I doubt this very much as I personaly have seen the best out of babel on his right foot.Do you remeber that CL game last season can't remeber what one where babel had 2 assists from corners ? Which foot did he use with those ? his right !

He has a very sweet right foot in fact But as you know playing on left as a right footer its hard unless shorter and can trun on the spot fast to lose ya marker also if you have a bad left foot which I think babel has you become predictable.

I think moving kuyt up front and babel to the right might give us a good ballance with Benny on left as Benny tho right footed is a master at making space for him self and that is a skill a right footer needs if he is to play on the left.

If babel played on right I think we would see him go down the line more with confidence and pace.I feel we would see the best out of him there.

its not which foot he uses, its EVERYTHING about his game that stinks. His technique is woeful, his passing is :censored: and he shirks from trackes and refuses to track back.

What you meen just how gerrard looked on sunday ?

Funny how playing out of position can do that to you !

Also I know you prob have a go and say how can you say Babel is same as Gerrard. But fact is tho gerrard is far better player then babel is at this moment in time. Its clear if you play any player in a part of the pitch he does not feel confident in or has the skills to use there , they will be focusing so hard on where they ment to be at what times they will forget the basics.

he's been the same for TWO YEARS, making school boy mistakes in every match. When was the last time you saw Gerrard run the ball out of play or attempt to dribble past a defender, only to LEAVE THE BALL BEHIND.

It's a joke.

I have seen gerrard do that a few times but this isn't my point babel is natrual right footer. Its been proven 90% of times right footers find it hard to play on left there are some exceptions of course to the rule there always is but in general its the case. Now I seen babel play on right at liverpool 2 times and in center 3 times when this has happened he has scored 2 goals and got 2 assists if my memory serves me right.I am not saying he is a great player nore am I saying he isn't lazy at times which he clearly is.But I do question if playing him on left is best for him the player or us the club.I get feeling rafa thought he could mold him into a left winger and it hasn't worked and only person who still thinks it can happen is Rafa.

Babel needs to buck up

Rafa Benitez fired a blunt message to Ryan Babel yesterday, warning him time is running out to salvage his Liverpool future after his £11.5million move from Ajax two years ago.

Ahead of Monday's home game with Aston Villa, Benitez said: 'Ryan has to give something to us this time and he knows it. He will have opportunities to prove himself with so many games coming up, but it is important he has the right mentality.

'Maybe there were some problems adapting to a new style when he arrived as a young player.

'He knows what is going on here now and hopefully can perform better. He accepts he has to perform at a different level this year.'

Will we ever see this guy perform at the level we expected when we signed him?

People have said that his rapping is an irrelevence, what he does in his spare time etc etc but I don't agree for two reasons. Firstly, if you force yourself to read the "lyrics" it's fairly obvious they are of the "lock up your daughters da man is in town" variety. References to how much money he earns, that he can't spend it all etc lead me to two conclusions. Firstly that he thinks he's already arrived as a footballer which is palpably nonsense as anyone who has seen him play can testify, and secondly that unfortunately he is a bit oif a c..., which is no way to go through life.

The second reason I don't agree that his "rapping" is an irrelevence, is because footballers can rarely sustain two focus's in life (or indeed focii as no doubt some clever person will tell me it is  ). Michael Owen has never been the same player since he spent as much time smelling horse sh!t as he does practicing his keepy uppies, while I read somewhere this week that that complete toolpiece David Bentley has bought himself a music club on the continent. Sol Campbell got into fashion designing, looking moody and wearing fur coats for reasons best known to himself, while David Beckham allowed his life to become an utter nonsense (although I could probably be persuaded to swap places for a couple of weeks it has to be said). Ronaldo has his clothing shops in southern Europe which along with his ridiculously tight shorts and girlish gait will be his downfall if he's not very careful, while it is arguable whether or not Stan Collymores fascination with thesbians (and no doubt lesbians as well) did him any favours. In fairness to Staffordshire's finest, he was probably off his rocker long before then so he's probably not the best example.

Babel though may eventually be tripped up and have to retire a multi millionaire simply because he doesn't want it enough. He obviously won't make it as a rapper either the silly b0ll0cks, but his hanger on friends won't be telling him that while he's setting up a studio in his restored farmhouse on the Wirral and paying for the producers out of his petty cash. When it's all over and he's wandering the dimly lit streets of Amsterdam, he'll soon tire of explaining to every man and his dog that long before he had the Dutch Christmas number one with "Shtop, my willy was a wonka" (which sold 117 copies) he was actually a famous footballer.

Yes I also had a laugh with that post, but it's funny and it's true aswell, I can't think of many players with "hobbies" in which hobbies actually helped the player.

The sooner Torres stops making fashion and parfum adverts the better.

As for Babel in particular, he doesn't only have to buck up, he can consider himself lucky, because you need more that touches of quality every 4 weeks to be allowed to remain in big clubs.

I guess this is the last chance for Babel. Rafa's message is very clear - shape up or ship out and I totally agree with Rafa. I dun blame Rafa for going public as I believe he has tried all means to kick Babel into action but failed. This is his last resort and hopefully will serve as an effective kick up Babel's :censored:!

Babel has been given chances to impress but has disappointed many times. If he still does not wake up after this final warning, then he certainly deserves to go.
