I dont think anyone can dispute the fee is way OTT.

What we have to do though is trust the manager.

Most of us feel that Johnson is a good player that will improve our RB position and give Kuyt vital support.

He is probably worth about 8 million so it seems crazy what we are paying but if he does a really good job and makes the right side of the pitch stronger then what he cost might not be that relevant in the grand scheme of things.

According to wikipedia

it was 5 million and Gallas for Cole.

DAni Alves is 41 million euros with targets, aprox 32 million pounds.

Honestly I prefer spend 18 millions in a good player and international for England, no more Dossenas.

yeah, me too

off the top of my head:

Cole was reported as 5m plus gallas (so probably the equivalent of 10m+)
Heinze wasn't far off at around 9m quid
Ramos was around 18m quid 3 years ago
alves 23.5m

the story is about arbeloa but the headline pic is of Yossi - hence the "WTF is Yossi doin there?" from Dundalk :laugh:

Overpriced, and certainly not a whole lot better than what we have. To be honest, it ain't hard to shine in a team like Portsmouth who are muck to start with (what an understatement THAT is...)
Bad, bad, bad piece of business.....Just 'cos he's English ? Is that why we had to pay over the odds ?

Ah it's all coming together. :laugh:

I had a feeling maybe it was a picture of Yossi outside the camp nou or something.
