Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

In fairness anyone who is concerned with the game being "boring" is talking nonsense. For one thing, I didn't think it was in the least bit "boring" and I enjoyed watching it from first minute to last. I enjoyed watching Madrid (and Sabes you over-estimate my watching time of them this season, I've seen them score a couple of goals only
I was only kidding about the prize thing) and liked some of their players. The lad Diarra from Pompey looks like an excellent buy and reminded me a bit of Sissoko, but not as good although I'm biased as I always really liked Momo.
The centre half who's name has already escaped me (very short name, quite tall with short/no hair) was excellent, and Robben fairly obviously retains a lot of the ability he had while at Chelsea. The long haired fella in midfield (Argentinian I think) wouldn't cut it in England, and should have been sent off for his assault on Riera. Hienz isn't the player he was and it's easy to see why Man Utd got rid, while Raul is a shadow of the player I remember, and I didn't think much to his strike partner either.
In no way boring though. It was a very polished performance by us, I thought we were excellent.
Another thing, I did notice that madrid like us were very reluctant to get sheer numbers into the box. I do think that in five years time everyone will be doing it, and the slightly more cautious style by then will be obsolete in most leagues.
Really good game though, and I shoudl think we'll win again at Home. 1-0 once more.

I like the fact that Gerrard isn't playing, he's our best player and we are going to need him hopefully later on. I also like the fact that other than him we've picked our other 10 best players, plus Benayoun. Benayoun deserves to play here, he has been just about our most incisive player over these last few weeks. I've doubted him many times in the past, but credit where it's due he's absolutely playing out of his skin and deserves to start.
Good team though from the manager I think. If we do lose, I don't think it's because of that. I don't think we will though, I think we'll getn home 1-0 (Gerrard, as sub)
Do I get a prize?
Fecking Rafa

If he'd brought Stevie on earlier I'd have got the scorer as well.
Yeah its the BigMick show after all!
May I remind you that its actually not..its about LFC on here!Ya know that team with the shi'te manager!
So what next.? Hark? Real were poor,so were they poor or did we stop them playing from mf?
Did Rafa get it right or was we lucky?

Fex sake
I'm like a magnet on here for stalkers and fecking loonies at the moment. Baz, do me a big fat favour and leave me alone fella eh? If you can't take a post in the spirit it was intended, then it's a shame but there you go. There are plenty of people on here for you to train your ascerbic wit and sightful football analysis on, give them a go for a whil will you for once.
I had enough of it two weeks back. Now we've just won a game which is lovely, I'm feeling quite happy, so don't put me on a downer with your bullsh!t, there's a good lad.
Nope sorry, cause you are a self absorbed patronising kunt!
Start another thread about how shi't Rafa is shall we?
Then complain cause the mods spill your toys?
I will remind you again..its an LFC forum!
Not the BigMick show!
Yay are we going to play the quote pattern making game!

That depends on how much you like football. If you only like association football, yes, it wasn't exciting.
If you have a broader taste for football, that was a top game.
Well, fair enough. I was a better match than the Utd v Inter game last night anyway.

If he is a risk against boro - dont play him - need him fully fit for the return leg - i want number 6 - dont care what other people think about cl not being enough for me the european cup is something liverpool have always prided themselves on and you only have to read the players book to see that . if we cant win the league lets go for the cl . that will more than do it for me .
I honestly think we're buggered in the league. I'm not saying give up, but I wouldn't be risking Torres in a league game if he isn't fully fit. Once again the CL represents our best chance of a trophy.
Having said that Torres' injury doesn't look bad to me. Bit of a twisted ankle. He played on it for the best part of 30 mins after he hurt it, and clearly didn't want to come off. He's ok.
i wouldnt risk him as well - hopefully we can still stay second and keep the second place but really want us to win the cl again .

Yeah me too. And for me this is the only thing we can realistically win this season. But I dont want us to lose 2nd place.
I could attack that statement but I won't.
I am very very very happy with that win, Rafa got it spot on tonight, he knows how to do it in Europe or is it just that it's easier, anyway who cares, we spanked Real Madrid, come on number 6

You can attack me any time mate.
Without trying to drag the thread off topic I was only referring to our tendancy to drop points against the lower teams. Anyway like you say roll on number 6!

I don't know, I didn't watch it, but probably it was a game like the ones of Calcio, tough one, tactical one, not very exciting from an English point of view.
But this is like music, the fact you don't like Rock music and you like Pop music doesn't mean Rock is shíte.
It's completely understandable some fans enjoy a type of football more than others, and perhaps it's one of the reasons why sometimes I come to this forum thinking we did a serious game and I'm happy with my 1-0, where as others think we were too negative. A matter of tastes. I'm a football nut and I like almost any kind of style as long as it's well done.

it is in the merged threads - think max used the words "jose brilliance in getting a draw" and saying it was an outstadning match .
