Lucas - - Mascha

Kuyt - - Gerrard - - Babel

Torres

Unless of course Mascha isnt fit to play or Carra is played at RB

wait is Xabi not fit?? did he also not travel ? I think the 4-2-3-1 has a distinctly different look with Lucas instead of Alonso

Xabi's missus is due to drop a sprog anytime ,so i think that's why he hasn't travelled.

if xabis not playing should we put our trust in lucas? or move gerrard back an play yossi behind nando?

personally i would throw lucas in to replace xabi with confidence he would get the job done and keep the torres gerrard partnership going..

It will be Masch and Gerrard centrally. Torres up top on his own. Rafa will play this one tight with counter-attack tactics. Remember - one goal kills them.

one of the bigger criticisms of the 4-2-3-1 was that we weren't getting enough support from Alonso in attack, well, if Lucas is in there, he might venture forward a bit more. Maybe we will go with a 4-1-4-1.
