F*ck, no real complaints from me, in case some are taking my posts that way. Just, I can't get my head round what kind of gear Rafa is smokin'. Looks like good sh*t to me. I wonder if he gets it shipped in from the Dam. Puff, puff, give, Rafa!

I dont want to dissapoint Bad Bob as I usually sound "crabby" :D

So come the 90th minute of this game I was bemused, confused and annoyed. Here's what I would of wrote (honestly):  Two points dropped, The players dropped one of them and Rafa the other. The players had their chances and didnt take them, Rafa started Gerrard right and then hauled him off just as he began to find his form in the game. He at the point looked our most dangerous player, and as typical of Rafa he pulls him off just as the fella's finding form, typical. At that point I thought the ref aided us more than our own manager, and was seriously thinking is Rafa here to help us or our opposition.

Anyway this is what I will write now after the three points. First half was scrappy, and the main thing that stood out for me was Gerrards position. Lescott had acre's of space, he was having a field day down the left flank. Now we ALL talk about "Gerrards lack of discipline" every position on the field of football requires discipline even right mid. Also whats of note is for me Rafa played into Everton's hand, they play defensive, conjestive football. Starting Gerrard out wide, wide being a mythical word here because as always happens Gerrard comes in and adds to the conjestion. So not only in the first half did we have 16 players in the space of 20 yards, we had no width or outlet. When the ball did break for Everton Lescott would hare foward and go at the exposed Finnan.
So there isnt any wonder opportunities were at a premium.

Second half was better, the game stretched. It started from an Everton corner and countered by Steven Gerrard through a 'central postion'. Before I go any further the 'pro-rights' will say that Gerrard has license to roam, IMO thats boll0x because as a right mid you still need to hold the shape of the team and add as much width as possible especially when playing defensive small clubs. The lung busting run and the neat lay off from Voronin was well done and typical Gerrard. Penalty, rightly so. And Kuyt tucked it away neatly, good finnish from the Dutchman, I reckon Gerrard bottled the Penalty kick :D .

Anyhow Everton down to 10 men, and Gollum kept two uptop. Which gave us the room to exploit and attack, so from there on the game came stretched. Yet again Gerrard was finding space, narrow left. I lost all sense of our midfielders position by then but still Gerrard was begining to do his thing. Then the most mystifying decision I've seen, Rafa hauls our best player off ?? WTF Why not bring our worst performer off Momo, he was terrible again. You cannot except passing like that from a Liverpool midfielder. Babel coming on I thought was a positive and decent move by the manager but the decision to bring Gerrard off was worrying. The young Levia was thrown into the cauldron, and I must say he did well. But I found it quite ironic that the Brazillian won us the last minutes penalty. From open play we never looked like scoring, Voronin, Riise, Momo all had their chances. The penalty was converted again by Kuyt, and TBH it couldnt of been a better way to beat Everton. Especially for the Scousers on here, as the controversay of them not getting a penalty at the end when IMO Lescott was fould by Carra, and the two reds for them must surely make the win that extra little sweeter when facing their bitter cousisns at work on Monday.

So hindsight, Should Gerrard of played right and should we have gone with Momo in the middle, answer a big fat NO.

Also should Gerrard of been hauled off, well looking back on it the penalty was awarded from the player that cam on for him. And Rafa appears now to be the brave tactical manager his managerial cv is built on. But for me if we'd have drawn or lost it would of been a descison only a fu.ckwit would of made. It paid off luckily for him, but was it the right decision for me, another big fat NO.

But we still one and I'm happy for that.

We gave Everton a goal head start and they still couldn't win.

It's a scientific fact that Everton are better when they have bald players.

No 1 guessed it , u are right but just imagine if it had backfired , i am sure the fans would have booed rafa and calling for his head

If u ask me that was a risky change by rafa , taking of gerrard for lucas. Lucas adapted well into gerrards role but never made the surging runs the capt did but the good thing was he went into every 50-50 and almost won all

Lucas like a great signing at so young and already so talented. Credit to rafa and his scouts for signing him  :)

You will never walk alone

I totally agree with u, it wasn't a bad overall performance but it wasn't a good 1 too . In derbies its difficult to say the form book is out of the widnow ..

For example Villa vs Birmingham
Man city vs Manure
Arsenal vs Spurs

Its very difficult to predict, a few season ago birmingham were bottom and villa were 8th i tink , during the derby birmingham outplayed villa and won the game.

Birmingham went on to get relegated

Absolute idiocy.

Might be good for Gerrard.

He's been in a funk recently.

This might make him angry and he'll take it out on the next team we play.

So as soon as he starts turning things around and is having a meaningful game Rafa claws him back and tries to make a statement?

Sorry mate, if he was going to do it he should have done it a while back not today.

Football players are mentally fragile.

Like a fine cigar.

They have to be stroked, caressed, lightly touched, given just the right amount of flame and sucked softly and the essence exhaled...

....hmmm....I could really go for a cigar right now.

Yeah!

LOL dude whatever u say , but still like many of us would agree gerrard was our best player in the 2nd half , he totally ran the show once he got into the free role..

Rafa got lucky that his chance paid off.
Big sami wud probably be the most relieved todae , as dirk kuyt managed to save pool from our defeat  :)
