Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby JoeTerp » Fri Apr 20, 2007 8:40 am

Should be able to take  care of business early even if they play for  the draw.  I hope Wigan get dropped I don't care for them at all, and I hope Charlton stay up because there are 2 AM replays on one of our cable channels of Charlton games (i have no idea why) and I would rather watch prem games than championship games.  PLus two more chances to watch LFC!    I think I read from liverpoolfc.tv that if we win we clinch top 4, I think Stevie will be subbed out early if we go up 2-0, maybe rest mascherano and crouch to save them for Chelsea.  Hope Fowler gets teh start or at least some decent minutes.  ALso a couple weeks back it was posted that this  could possibly be Kewell's return, anybody hear any news on that?

no doubt we will rest players and put out a weakened team causing us to struggle and serve up another 90 minutes of dross for the fans

I know he's had his injuries but it does give me the kittens everytime I see him on the pitch he just does nothing for me(Zenden).
Wonder if we'll see Kewell? He can't be far off coming back, can he?

Got to give Fowler a start if fit, probably alongside G.Raff. I'd be tempted to put SG on the bench with Kuyt and Bellamy if he's fit. We have to rest players ahead of tougher games, using the squad fully to avoid fatigue and injury.

If we toss away third and lose to chelski in the semi that will be such a waste, six points at home is a must in order to try and secure third with a CL final (or win) an added bonus.

Wouldn't be surprised to see something like this:

-----------------------Reina--------------------
Arbeloa--------Carragher------ Hyypia--------Riise
Pennant-------Sissoko---------Zenden--------Gonzo
---------------Kuyt------------Fowler----------

Still a good enough team to get all 3 points

I'd rest Carra not Agger if I were to rest one of the two. Is Sissoko fit?!??!?

I wouldn't trust a CM of Sissoko and Zenden to beat anybody.  Why not at least put Xabi out there to start since he was rested midweek

Everyone happily rotates players except the keeper. Whilst he has limited physical exertion, mentally he is as knackered towards the end of the season as anyone else. I'd rest Reina so he's raring to go against the chavs.

Do we have a second keepr these days?

Bellamy and Alonso are back in contention for this game. Rafe keeps commenting on qualifying for europe next year so i dont think he will rest too many key players.

Reina

Arbeloa
Carragher
Hyypia
Riise

Pennant
Gerrard
Sissoko
Gonzales

Bellamy
Crouch

2-0 Gerrard, Crouch
