however, if you read this thread from the beginning - the original question - and then my response, i got a slating for quite politely stating crouch is no longer going to be playing as much football as he is used to becoz (SouthCoastShankley, ur comment abt they way i spell that is quite frankley - the gayest thing i have ever read) we now have much, much better players for that position in bellamy and kuyt. I also continued to say i believe crouch will play an integral part in this campaign, however the rude responses from these know-it-all 'seniors' who are now changing their angle and this discussion completely becoz they know what i said to start with is the truth, prompted me to stating how bad a player peter crouch really is compared to other strikers at the club.
and dont gimme that tripe abt paul tomkins n his mathmatical formulas on lfc.tv. no disrespect to the guy, but he's recently begun to sound more and more like gerrard houllier.

speaking of logic and common sense, good strikers should be able to shoot with power and precision, header the ball with intent, have pace to burn, power, good balance and a natural instinct to put the ball in the back of the net... of those 6 attributes, at least 3 are expected as a minimum standard, 4 is good and 5 or all 6 make a top striker such as dirk kuyt, wayne rooney and thierry henry, etc, etc, etc... unfortunately, peter crouch holds NONE of those skills.
kirankara wrote:that wayne rooney who right now has scoring record at international level vastly inferior to peter crouch, now by no means am i saying peter is a better player, but still its a fact to consider, and whilst i too agree kuyt is an all round better player, he lacks attributes that peter does, his link up play is not as good, and can we afford rooney or henry? Like i have said before it was no coincidence that we won more games that in previous season last year due to Crouch in our squad. If you are blinded by your own stupidity and cant see that then theres no point discussing it with you. If we coud afford henry or rooney then id happily shove peter out the door of anfield myself, but fact remains hes a lliverpool player, he creates goals , scores goals, and the MANAGER and the PLAYERS rate him, which means more to me than the oppinion of some gonad who has never played proffessional football, or managed a club in his life. Everyones alloowed oppinions, its just that to be honest only rafas and the players count, and they all feel he is invaluable to squad. Have you ever seen how many balls he wins in air, how many times he keeps ball whilst players get forward?
?? do you know how important that is to a team? Obviously not, otherwise you wudnt write this drivel everytime. well im bored of this post that is obviously written by someone who only sees the glory players as having any use, sometimes the heroes go unsung and Crouch is one of those

Technique - 5 Being skillful isn't his game. Although recent games, both club and country, have shown flashes of samba!

Technique, as in how he moves his neck to make the header and the timing of it? as in ball control, or if he does orientated controls?, technique as in touch of the ball? technique as in how close he keeps the ball from his feet when running? Come on, a player is not that simple to describe
