Well £2million is a joke. I'm surprised Sparky hasn't self destructed with that kind of bid. I think Rafa will have to up it to around £4.5mill. I was really excited about the prospect of signing Lucas Neill. I hope matters can be resolved soon.

the article from SSN:

Blackburn have rejected a bid from Liverpool's Lucas Neill.

Skysports.com exclusively revealed The Reds had made an offer for the Australian, but Rovers have rebuffed their opening salvo.

Rovers are keen to hang onto one of their prized assets ahead of the transfer deadline on Thursday.

Neill has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal and Rovers are prepared to let him serve out his current deal.

However, Liverpool are hoping they can persuade Rovers to sell.

The Reds are unlikely to give up at this stage and talks are believed to be ongoing, although it remains to be seen whether a deal can be struck before Thursday's transfer deadline.

£4.5mill is incredibly cheap for someone who has the ability to do well at a top flight club, if Lucas costs £6.7million then I might well have reservations.

I agree he'll never be as good as Finnan, but he is a much better player than KrapKamp.

And he can play anywhere in defence. Right back, left back, centre back. He can cover for anyone in defence, he would be a good buy.

right hes a decent player, a better defender than kromkramp yes but at 4.5mil! not too sure about that oasis lad for someone who is gonna get splinters in his @rse all season barring things go well on the injuries front in the defence. i wouldnt go any further than 3mil coz am only assuming that hes gonna be back up for finnan and kromkramp will go to PSV or someone

£4.5 is too much. There are better options around.

Like who and don't say Sorin. For starters he'll cost too much and from what I've seen of him he plays on the left back.

Sorin has moved any way this summer, so he is out of the question  :p
