Koeman dismisses Kuyt exit talk
2006-08-13 17:26
Feyenoord coach Erwin Koeman says his club have not received a bid for striker Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool or Newcastle United, and expects the player to stay.
Liverpool are rumoured to have launched a £10million bid for the Dutch international, while Magpies boss Glenn Roeder has revealed his interest in the player.

However, Koeman says he does not expect Kuyt to leave the De Kuip Stadium this summer:
"I expect he will be staying with us for one more year and then we will see. At this moment there is nothing happening."

the press are having a field day at the moment, honestly i would take everything with a pinch of salt, kuyt is my first choice for liverpool but...klose would be a great player to get, i thought he was great in the world cup...   tbh  this kuyt deal is fuc.king me off now...lets just wait and see what happens,
stadium funding, no new investment,  these are the real reasons why we fail to get our intended targets
we have to get new money in the club over the next 18 months...the one thing on our side is benitez is bringing in trophy,s  which as you know will generate money...thank god rafael benitez is our coach  :;):

what is the latest on Kuyt?  I read the he was coming to play a friendly against Reading and going on from there to have a medical at Anfield.

Mind you, after watching the lads today, I am convinced that we should keep Pongolle, give him more games and watch him mature into a 20 goal a season striker.

He is as keen as mustard - the only thing that I have against him is that he reminds me of the Predator with that hair!

Who knows at this stage? Apparently the Alves deal fell through not because of the fee, but because of the rate at which the money was to be paid. Therefore, the Kuyt deal could fall through for the same reasons. Looks like Feyenoord are still playing games. Could end up just a lot of hot air--in which case I hope we get Klose or Obe Martins pretty quick!

Kuyt prefers Newcastle United
By Jan Hattinga - August 13 2006

Feyenoord striker Dirk Kuyt thinks he will end up at Liverpool instead of his prefered destination Newcastle United. Kuyt would love to replace Geordie legend Alan Shearer at Newcastle but it seems unlikely that the Magpies will match Feyenoord's asking price.

Kuyt told me last week that he desperately wants to sign for Newcastle United.

"I've always wanted to be a hero, I have that status now at Feyenoord and I want to achieve that at my next club too. I know quite a bit about Newcastle, they're one of the best supported teams in the Premier League and they're a typical English club. It would be a dream to play for them."

The striker is unsure whether he will be a Toon hero next season, though.

"I know Feyenoord are asking a massive fee and I don't know if Newcastle are willing to match that."

Liverpool are more likely to take the gamble and pay Feyenoord's asking price of around £10 million.

"I would consider a move to Liverpool, they're likely to progress to the Champions League group stages, I would love to play in that competition but my first choice is Newcastle."

Think enough time has been wasted on him if any of this is true

What a f.ucking knob, f.uck him now lets get someone who wants to play for the club and not a joke of a club like newcastle. Why anyone wants to go there is beyond me.

We should be a bit concerned now about getting a striker
