Apparently, Parry has said that the next manager must have a track record of winning trophies. That will rule out Curbishley, Strachan and the likes of also run.
Rafael Benitez, who took over Valencia 3 seasons ago and already steer them to two Primera Liga title and UEFA Cup this season (against the heavyweights like Real Madrid, Deportivo, Barcelona etc) appeared to be the right guy. Don't rule out Maurinho though.
Incidently, the quote from Parry: "A track record is obviously important. If you are looking at someone's ability to win trophies, proof of doing it clearly helps. Commitment, enthusiasm and hunger are important too. But quality will be the watchword."
I think the same quality statement should be applied to new recruits (for this season) as well.
Overall, I am happy we are moving forward in the right manner. Now another point to ponder...if Benitez is appointed, will that mean we will be signing new Spanish players now ?
