Hitzfeld hasn't been sacked, because he hasn't been offered a new contract by Bayern Munich and his contract was run out this summer. He felt it is time to move on. I am 100% sure that he will be next Germany mnanager after Euro 2004.

If Houllier had resigned after his heart attack on health grounds he would now be remembered as a Liverpool legend. His statue would probabaly be placed in front of the new stadium.

Benitez is the only man i want to see out of the four favourates.

The rest i don't want and will be gutted if we get O'Neil, Curbishley or Mourinho.

Mourinho is a bit of a arrogant prat. So I can understand why people wouldn't want him. He takes all the praise for Porto's revival and none of the players get credited. Benitez would be great as he is down to earth and has a good attitude as shown by the way Valencia treated him a two seasons ago. He may be able to persuade some of his men to join us :cool:

But what about O'Neil? He is a great manager who proved himself with the Bhoys and is a great motivater, exactly what the Pool need. He was destined for the job. Why does everybody ignore Sam Allardyce ?

Give me a reason about Jose Mourinho, why you will be gutted if Liverpool to appoint Jose?

Because he comes across as an arrogant money grabbing ******.

He doesn't love LFC, he never will. He doesn't even love FC Porto. He seems like the type of man who, if the going gets tough, will up and leave. He would also not protect his players.

I just don't like the man.

Benitez is THE answer.

The guy who said Mr Jose would never love the Pool was bang on. Curbishley, O'Neil, Allardyce and Beneitz have had to put up with a lot of $hit, and they would see Liverpool get to the top. Bring on Big Sam!!!

I'd say its a toss-up between Mourinho and Benetiz, whoever the board can get.

If those two guys say "no" (which is likely) it would appear that Alan Curbishley is third in line.
