The only reason we are interested is to get them to raise the price and force tottenham to fork over more cash to get him.  Rafa has been silently playing with other squads transfers and they are emptying their pockets just to keep their target.  Just look at cichino or w/e his name is.  tho I must admit that I hope we can get Cichino, as he looks like a good prospect.

Secondly The fact that moore and parry are trying to push Benitez into buying Owen coyuld represent a problem in the future as the is Benitez's squad and he wants to keep it that way.  This was the reason for Benitez leaving Vaencia.  Though i feel this may be overblown by the fact that Moores is willing to pay for Owen out of his own pocket.  My only concern is now Lyon may be interested in making a swoop for Owen because that little bag of Baros refused to go to Lyon and screwed us out of an additional 2 million pounds !!  So we'll see how things really end up and it will be an interesting outcome no matter what happen.

Why should we be worried about Lyon when Owen doesn't want to go to France? When's the last time you was an Englishman playing in the French league?

Yes chelsea did over spend as always but Lyon actually wanted 32m (the same amount they offered us for gerrard) not the 24m they received.

They wanted huge amount of cash for their transfer funds and they got it.

I agree that the Kuyt comments by Rafa could be a smoke screen for Owen and make other clubs pay more for him, I like us getting new faces but al this waiting is doin my head in and also unsettling the team, I can't wait till 1st September so we can concerntrate on the football not the rumours.

Listen u kn*b , Kezman would grace te Anfield turf if he played for us. A very good player, just not Maureens flavour of the month. and what does kezman have to do with anything?

Listen A.B. you are gonna cry your eyes out on september the first. you'll have to stick up peter crouch posters in your bedroom and take down the owen ones, if you cxan fit peter crouch on your wall. you room will have to be 9ft tall.

I'd have Owen back over Kuyt anyday cos MO is proven in a red shirt, I just hope that if he did come back it was cos Rafa wants him not cos of the board, I just don't want Rafa getting p1ssed off with Moore/Parry interfearing :(

Think that was Chris Waddle for Marseille...

Anyway, all this talk of Kuyt is a good thing imo.  Rafa is playing Feyenoord and Madrid perfectly.  Which ever player Rafa is REALLY after, no one really knows, and it means we will not be held to ransom by anyone.  Plus, both players probably want to sign for us.  We in a very strong negotiating position.  Great.

In terms of Kuyt, is he not able to play wide right as well as in the centre?  Might explain why Rafa would have rekindled his interest

 :D funniest thing I've read all day. Have you seen Kezman play? How many goals has he scored in the games he's played compared to the amount of goals he scored at PSV.

Even with the quality midfield at Chelsea he still couldn't find the back of the net consistantly. He was sh1t in the Premiership, and thats a fact.

Kezman was a poor player for Chelsea. I suspect even someone of Hus's limited knowledge fully appreciates that and this is merely one of his cunningly disguised wind-ups.So fiendish and deceptive has he become these days (Hus' that is, not Kezman I think I cold've marked him myself to be honest) that dealing with his myriad of split personalities has become a minefield. I personally don't know how I keep up with it all. Alfonso Alonso, The Hustler, Hustlers revenge, Luis Garcia. Fortunately though, although the names change the football knowledge doesn't increase so like a shane Warne leg-break you can normally just pad him off with impunity. i tell you all though, one day this lad will learn the basic rudiments of football and then he'll fool us all.

i know more than you lad. whilst you were licking heskeys bum, and raving about houlliers rein as manager, i was scathing about the mediocrity of the team, and wanted him out for a long time.

Hus' I don't know if it's me your referring to here but i may as well assume it is. You have probably picked on Houlliers harshest critic on these boards, and as for Heskey don't even get me started. You obviously don't read my posts with the same interest that I read yours.
BTW, "Crouch the slouch" was not bad on the previous thread. One of your better efforts if you don't mind me saying so.
As for knowing more than me (if it is me you are referring to), then on a variety of subjects this will probably be the case. On football though it's not.    :talktothehand
Even you know that much Hus'. I can barely keep a straight face considering the prospect.
