He scored V tns, although disallowed, he found the net! 2 V Wrexham, and he won golden boot for Monaco.
I think you are talking out of your backside lad, this is not another heskey we are talking about, and we gave him at least 4 years!
We need the wingers, like Zenden, and Figo, along with Alonso Garrard, Garcia etc to put them in on goal, good crosses etc. Im expecting 25 + from nando this term,

Fernando will be used like Vieri was at Inter. For experience, for the last 30-20 min, start a quiet a few games (not all), used in big games etc. I dont think he will score more goals than Cisse. If its a 4-4-2 then Id bet its Cisse and Baros upfront, unless he wants to use Garcia as that 5th Mf and support Striker inbetween role.

Seems like nobody of note really wants to go there, and only second tier players are willing to go but their club will try to wring out every last million to allow their players to go to Chelsea. City just rejected a 20 million bid for Wright-Phillips and Lyon is holding out for a whopping 30 million for Essien.
Perhaps Chelski can get Wright -Phillips and/or Essien cheaper...if Roman bought these 2 clubs and force the issue at their respective board level.![]()
BTW, I don't see Drogba as a failure, he creates a lot of havoc with his physical, allowing Lampard & Co to steal goals on so many occassions.

Wright Phillips is the only creative player City have. Thus, its understandable that they will not let him go. Also it appears he wants to stay with them, and another factor is that his Father played for Arsenal, which if it has any meaning would favour a move there. Anyway, IMO we do not need him as we have 9 Midfielders and Joe, Duff and Robben are quite capable of playing on the right. However he is a very good player and would be a good signing IF it does happen. But like I said, I dont think we need him so im not disappointed that he isnt coming.
The Essien deal is done. I expect him to be announced as a Chelsea player soon. He has made it clear that he wants to play for us next season and that his time with Lyon is over. They will obviously make it difficult because he is a key player for them, they want to hold on to him and they will try and squeez as much money as they can.
Drogba did create a lot of havoc, a lot of space for our midfielders and he did end up scoring 16 goals. However, he did not live up to what was expected, he missed 600 chances but scored 16, he was lacklustuer, he was indecisive, he also was injured. Anyway, I dont think he is worth 24M, but I do expect him to improve this season and with Crespo back he will surely up his game to compete for that starting spot.

You might be right about Baros not starting and Fernando being Rafa's favourite, and thats fine. All I was trying to say is, IMHO a CIsse-Baros partnership, if a 4-4-2 (straight or daimond) is employed, has potential to become one of the most lethal partnerships in the League. You have to remember Fernando is 29 (i think) and hs definetaly past his best. He is of the pace and I doubt he will last the entire season, I do like him as a player and would love to see him succeed, which im sure he will, but I just wanted to say that Cisse-Baros 'could' tear the League apart with their pace, small man big man relation and explosive shots.
