that has to be the most STUPID question i've ever heard.  Sack the manager who has won the Champions league in his first season?  ???

come on , dont you feel let down by RB today, if he had opened his eye and saw that Morientes is past his best and that Zenden is a pill of poo and Garcia is no better and that Alonso is starting to loos it, we might have Owen and might have got some big names in the club ...after all we are european champions

I don't feel let down by not signing Owen, it's one player, we won the CL last season without him and we'll continue to manage without him :)

It's more important having Rafa at Anfield than having Michael Owen. :;):

Lakes , your time frame is a little off but the essence of your question is valid . Certainly failure to progress in the CL and improve on last seasons Prem finish Compounded with Rafa's decision to effectively let Owen walk away will certainly raise questions over his managment . I count today as Rafa's first major mistake . Let's face it ,he could have had Owen if he really wanted him ,but he's obviously decided he's not that bothered, for the life of me I still don't know why ,after all our current strike force is showing all the bite of my granny with her teeth out. . Lack of success this season and this weeks events will come back to haunt him . Having said that . you don't throw away a manager who has brought you the biggest trophy in club football during his first season just because he failed to sign a particular player.

Lakes you absolute & utter muppet

JUST BECAUSE RAFA DID NOT PAY DOUBLE FOR A PLAYER HE SOLD ONLY LAST YEAR!!!!   WE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE FOOTBALL WORLD AND HELD TO RANSOM IN ANY FUTURE TRANSFER NEGOTIATIONS!!!

If you have nothing sensible to say, say nothing at all!!!

Lest some of you forget Rafa's record speaks for itself!!!!
