laughable, the very idea that a player of his calibre would be that easy to snatch away is absurd.

Don't think he'd come to us, more likely another big Italian club or perhaps Madrid.

All players i wouldn't mind seeing here.

Last night I was actually thinking about the possibilty of Parker being involved in a Gerrard deal if he goes to Chelsea.

He has good attacking flair and Imo would link up very well with Xabi.

If he came, Baraja would be out of the question, as he would have to be guaranteed a start.

Vicente and Joaquin are the two best wingers in Sapin, and would be absolutley brilliant signings. I hp to see one of those lads coming to Anfield in the summer.

Owen IMO is out of the question, he's starting at Madrid now, and is scoring goals. I think he is happy thwere for now, and if he were to come back to england I think it would be in a deal with Arsenal, with Reyes goiung the other way.

Coloccini impressed me at 2004 Copa America, and is only 22 or something. He would be a very good signing also, and reasonably priced probably.

Canizares would be first choice without a doubt. Probably the best GK in Spain up with Casillas. We have been linked with Reina from Villareal also, who i know nothing about.

Out:
Traore, Pellegrino, Kirkland, Nunez, Kewell, Biscan, Mellor, All players on loan and most of all SMICER

In:
Woodgate/Upson/king, Tomas Rosicky, Mista, Edu.

I'd sell Baros if we were to buy Owen too.

Not too unrealistic
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Team for next year accompanied with a back up for each position (Taking into account our budget)

                                       Dudek(Carson)

Finnan(Josemi) Carragher(Pellegrino) Juanito(Hyypia) Warnock(Traore)

Garcia(Nunez) Alonso(Mintal) Gerrard(Torres) Vicente(Kewell/Riise)

                   Morientes(Sinama Pongolle) Cisse(Baros)

INs:
Vicente
Torres
Mintal
Juanito

OUTs:
Kewell/Riise
Hamann/Biscan
Kirkland
Mellor/Baros
Smicer

That said, we would perhaps just need to spend over 30 million on these 4 players. And if Gerrard does go, and hopefully for 40 million+, this money will be used to acquire these 4 players, and will probably have some left over. Torres will then get into the starting eleven and Hamann/Biscan will be his backup.

Some might not agree with the goalkeepers (Dudek) and the keeping of Josemi in the team, but i simply feel Dudek still have the potential to become his former great and that Josemi could turn useful as a backup next year. Its a backup after all and we certainly do not need to invest on a right back backup do we?

And if Baros goes, Mellor and even Garica/Mintal will then be his (Cisse's) backup.

I wish!!

Personally i never have understood the fuss about Scott Parker. A decent player no doubt but he's a hardly a world beater, i would say he's a good standard premiership player at best on the level of a say Danny Murphy, Nicky Butt or Lee Bowyer in terms of ability.

If Gerrard leaves id like to see a replacement of higher quality.

MR-  jaoquin-  not sure if we could afford him, but i heard that he has a 20 million release clause so we can use the 30 million spent from gerrard.   love him, top player, would give us great width

If you mean Joaquin of Real Betis, then no he is not a realistic target. Yeas he would cost upwards of £20 Mil, and he is a player og genuine quality, but Real Madrid or Chelsea wil be his destination.

Am not in the habit of pulling apart other fans posts but this one doesn't make any sense. Torres would be a target for the top sides in Europe...he has been linked with the scum for a couple of years and he also doesn't play midfield...he is a striker.
Also Mintal is an attacking midfielder and not a striker, he is a realistic target though.

This post is almost meaningless

The only thing that is certain is that a lot of players will be leaving in the summer.

Definate leavers:

Kirkland
Slow, concedes soft goals, the poorest goalie I have ever seen at Liverpool. And injury prone... Not very likely to command a transfer fee. Maybe a club will take him on loan for next season or maybe a club are willing to gamble on his fitness and sign him on a free. Anyway he will not be here next year

Smicer
His contract expires in june, will leave on a Bosman

Cheyrou
One of the poorest midfielder I've ever seen in a red jersey. Him Nigel Clough and Paul Stewart should get together and open a pub. We will not get any money, and most likely we will struggle to find a club wanting his services. Most likely he will go on another loan to a lesser french outfit.

Vignal
Rangers will get him on a free transfer.

Mellor
Sheffield United bound. Fee: 200k

Henchoz
Bye mate.

Biscan
He has been offered a new contract. But from what I've learned he is unhappy with the terms. He will probably go to Lazio or Rome on a free.

Hamann
Although I think Hamann is a very good player, I think he will return to Germany. He has two or three years left of his career and going back now seems like a sensible move. Has been our best and most consistent midfielder for 5 years or so.

Hyypia
Has been dropped on a couple of occasions this season and it is clearly a first sign of our manager being unhappy with the big finn. He has had problems adapting to a more attacking style, and Benitez will not change his footballing philosophy just to accomodate Hyypia. Hyypia will be a great signing for a lesser more defensive team as he still master his trade of defending deep just in front of the keeper exemplified by his performances against Juve. Transfer fee approx £ 1,5 million

Also
Some of the youngster will leave. A lot of the lads in the 19-22 year age group are already too old and should be looking for a club in the lower leagues. One of Benitez major concern is the mismanagment by Houllier and the rest of his staff concerning the academy. The academy must start producing quality NOW.

Might leave:

Diouf
I am not sure what Benitez think of Diouf. Most likely he will leave and we will get about £ 2-3 million. But Benitez may surprise us and give him a final opportunity to get his sh!t together.

Kewell
If Benitez can find a new employer for him he will leave. But his generous £ 65 k a week deal could stop that from happening. If he leave it will probably be on a free. (and that is a good deal as we save 65k every week)

Diarra
A scandalous signing by Houllier. What is the point in owning a player who has never been in Liverpool or interested in playing here. 3 years away on loan and counting. Has had a good season, and he is now a candidate for the french national team. I have no idea what Benitez will do with Diarra, but my best guess is that he will be sold to Lens for a small fee. £ 1 million.

Baros
I would like him to stay, but he could leave us in the summer.

Morientes
Not lived up to the expectations. Does not move around as much as I would like, and maybe he does not fit in here. I would be shocked if he left us, but who knows?

Dudek
May or may not leave.  60/40

Traore
Valuable squad player, but if there is a lot of money on the table Benitez might be tempted to take it.

Signings

I do not even bother to mention names. But Benitez will sign:

(1 goalie if Dudek leaves)
2 new central defenders
1 right winger
1 left winger
1 or 2 midfielders
1 striker

We are looking at the most dramatic turnover of personell ever witnessed at Anfield. It is necessary to clean up Houllier's sh!t and start building a new team. From all of Houllier's signings I can only see Riise, Baros and Finnan as future Liverpool 1st team players.
If football is banned in heaven. I'd rather go to hell.

Liverpool linked with Premiership midfielder

Newspaper reports claim that Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is considering making a move for Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan.

Nolan used to be on Liverpool's books as a youngster but quit the club to increase his chances of progressing in the game because of the competition that was ahead of him. It is claimed though that Rafa has been asking how he was ever allowed to leave the club and if you believe the reports, the player could be snapped up by Rafa in the summer.

El-Hadji Diouf is on loan at Bolton and they want to buy him so the report suggests some kind of player exchange deal may be ironed out.

Got this from another forum. my pick would be the players in bold.

reasons :
1)Gallas - Most under-rated player at chelsea.... Can't believe carvello is ahead of him at centre-back. Tery & Gallas form the best  CB partnership in the premierleague.

2)Aimar - Class...nuff said.

3)Vicente - I still think kewell if he gets his injury (both physical & mental) sorted out, he will be a hell of a left winger. But much like Baros, i think kewell will leave. We ain't gonna get duff.... So get the 2nd best left winger i can think of after duff.

4)Joe Cole - If chelsea buys more midfielders this seaon, i guess cole will leave. And we should snap him up. He has been perfoming well in robben's absense. In fact he has been their best performer lately.  Good to have on the bench. And with the luck we always have with injuries, he will play a lot of matches too.

5)Owen - class....nuff said.

                           Carson
             Finnan   Carra   Gallas   Riise
             Garcia    Alonso  Aimar  Vicente
                   Owen       Morientas/Cisse

If you don't get absolutely slaughtered for even suggesting the possibility of signing Nolan I'll be amazed. You're not allowed to go out on a limb on here, you have to wait until there is a concensus in the media and the guy is being talked about as 15 million pound player before you can suggest we sign someone from the Prem.
SWP? start of the season you got laughed at if you suggested we sign him. It's OK now of course. Ledley King? I DID get laughed at for suggesting him, same people now think he's a good player. I even had the tumerity to suggest that Cahill may make a player, what a numpty. Earnshaw? it's still out there and I'm not retracting it. Same goes for Damien Francis.
Nolan? decent player in my view. Goalscoring midfielder who probably finds it hard to stand out in a fairly direct Bolton side. Worth more to us than the fool Diouf? certainly.

Not a bad player, but not any improvement to our squad, just like Damien Francis or Earnshaw..
