Transfer deja vu - Ins and outs

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

alessandromagno wrote:Got to say that so far, I'm not impressed. If Rafa has a fault (and of course he has many like all of us), it's a tendency to undervalue the individual contribution--and also a Latin quality that he shares with Gerrard Houllier, that involves taking unreasonable likings and dislikings to players not really based on valid football reasons.

Now this is a prelude to talk about movement on the transfer market thgis close season--or lack of it! So far, I'm reminded of last year--lots of talk but not much action. Now, it's true that great players at reasonable prices are not exactly hanging off the trees. So why is Rafa so determined to get rid of Cisse and Hamman? Not to mention the repatriation of Morientes. One can understand the repatriation of Moro--but Cisse and Hamman? I think there's a good chance that we wouldn't have won either final over the last two years without the German. What if Sissoko gets injured or loses form?

Finally, why can Newcastle and other teams that never win anything pay money up front, while we seem to be always looking for the cheapest option available. I would believe that part of the explanation for the last question is that this is the way Rafa likes to do business. He likes young players he can mould or little known players who will do a job. He seems uneasy with proven stars like Owen, Gerrard and Hamman.

End of rant. Buy us some quality Rafa--and don't let Hamman go!

To even compare Rafa with Houllier is an insult to Rafa.
Pellegrino, Nunez and morientes might be less than stellar signings, but they cost a combined 8 million.
Where are they now???
He sent them packing after a season.
And he still got back around 5 million.

Then he has got Alonso, Momo, Garcia, Reina Bellamy etc at bargain prices and all are class and an important part of the future. In turn this convinced Gerrard Liverpool was moving in the right direction.

GH spend enormous amounts on Diouf, Diao, Cheyrou, Cissé, Diomede, ALT saying they were the next Viera, Zidane etc.
Then he refused to admit he had bought :censored: and that he had made a mistake. And not wanting to sell so we could have got something back.

Rafa gives a player a season to show in games and in training if you are good enough. If they are not, they will be sold no matter who bought them.
And it isn't Rafa´s fault he can't get Alves, Villa, Kuyt and so on. Cause GH put our club in a terrible state financially.
So Rafa has to haggle and turn every penny so he can get as much as possible for as little as possible.

His only mistake is a 3 million loss on Mori.

Houllier lost almost a hundred million on his terrible purchases.

Rafa is a genious, and he gets maximum out of the resources he is given.

Krusty the clown and Moore, just don't want to/can´t spend much money and Refuses to let go of control.

Trabelsi is very good on the counter-attack and very creative, but the question is we already have two right backs.

Please don't tell me you're gonna sit there and post every single player connected with Liverpool? We're connected with hordes of players every transfer window, most of which are recycled to create more talking points; that's all.

That article on Joaquin says that he has made it clear that he will depart Betis. This may have been true before but didnt he also recently come out and say that he wishes now to stay with Betis. He was also praising the manager. This is a poor article, even by SSN's standards.

Better check with Welsh Wizard mate!

I think it might just be Simao time again or wait I think its Michael Owens turn right ?

Or to suggest someone seriosuly for the RW position incase Alves and anyone else :censored: up how about Germanys David Odonker. (I have no idea if i have spelled it right) He has looked really lively on the wings on the occasions he has played and is unlucky only to be forced out of that spot by Sweinstieger even though he played on the left tonight.

Odonker was only taken becasue Diesler wasnt fit enough at the last minute but has since been labled the German Rooney.

If anyone else has seen him play they will know that he is bound for a big team soon.

Nothing has been officialised yet about Fabio Aurelio's move to anfield, but it appears that we got our man...

Rafa Benitez tonight led colleagues and players Pako Ayestaran, Jose Manuel Ochotorena, Fabio Aurelio, Momo Sissoko and Eduardo Macia...

Yes it seems so. I wonder though why he was not taken to the world cup.
