u tell me now that team isnt capable of challenge for major honours on all 4 fronts? our subs bench cud be

Cisse
Baraja
Hyypia
Garcia

Enough talent there to come on and turn the game around when needed and more than enough talent to rotate the team and have players of the same quality, Rafa has to push for his old player from Valencia, I was bitterly disappointed after seeing Mourinho bring in Carvalho and Ferreira to see Rafa not bring in anyone but has unearthed gems in Xabi and possibly Luis Garcia

3 things Nando:

1 - I doubt very much that Rafa will go for Aimar as Garcia has been bought for that 'special role'. And anyway is it really worth having both of them.

2 - Getting Baraja to Liverpool in the first place will be a near impossible task, and then asking him to sit on the bench?

3 - Buying Owen and Upson and not even putting them on the bench?

Judging from this season so far Rafa will probably be safer buying himself an extra team...god i hope we never have an injury hit season like this. All going well we'll have an extra few 'free' signings start of next season

Vignal has been given a free transfer and is a free agent as soon as his loan at Rangers ends.

Bruno Chyrou will remain in France with Marseille on loan again next year: Cheyrou revealed this back in February.

Vladimir Smicer's contract will expire and almost certainly will not be extended. He has stated that he won't return to Lens and wants another year in the Premiership, but rumour has it he's open to an offer from the Polish league.

Alou Diarra will likely return to Melwood in the summer (like he did last year) but he has stated he wants a permament move to Lens. Lens are reportedly in discussions with Liverpool but rumour has it they won't find the cash Liverpool are looking for.

Igor Biscan's contract will expire but there is a rumour that he'll be offered a years extension. This is contradicted by reports that Biscan has already made up his mind to go and Hamburg are keen on him.

Didi Hamman's contract will expire and to the best of my knowledge, he has yet to agree a new one. Benitez wants him to stay and Hamman broadly is agreeable, but he has some nice offers to return home to Germany.

I think there is a very good chance that Ritchie Partridge will leave.

I also think there's a very good chance that Baros will be sold to finance expenditure on other areas.

Jerzy Dudek could also find himself being shifted out.

I think Diao will return to Liverpool as I don't think Birmingham will keep him on. Despite his good form at Bolton I think Liverpool will struggle to sell Diouff in the summer and if he goes it will be to a mid table Spanish or Italian team.

S Why would you keep Kewell who has done nothing all season?

As you may know I have defended Kewell to a certain extent. When he is at his best he is as good as Robben, Duff, Pires and Giggs.

Yes he is on a lot of money, and yes he hasn't done anything for the last 18 months.

But I seriously think that he would love to come good for us.

My policy would be for him to have what ever operation/s he needs and then have the full rest period that has been recommended by the top physio's in this area, which I believe is 3 months. Having him back for the start of the season would not be a necessity, the priory would be to get him fully fit regardless of other issues.

And then if he doesn’t produce then there will be no excuse, he could be shifted of in January or at the end of the season when he would still have 2 years on his contract.

But my policy is to get him fully fit and clear of injuries completely and then tell him to produce the goods.

I'm 100% sure Baros & Kewell will be offloaded, and 50% Gerrard will go. I think Hyypia will also be on his way.

If Gerrard goes, we need a direct replacement. Either Baraja or Ballack (now that he's pi$$d off Chelsea they wont want him).

We need a back-up striker like Andy Johnson to Cisse and Morientes. Mista can also do the job. Rafa will always play games with one striker and a supporting attacking midfielder, so no point getting Owen who cant play on his own without Heskey winning the headers.

We need a goalkeeper and Toldo from Inter is my first pick. He's also had contract problems so is not beyond the realm of possibilities.

We need a speedy CH like Boumsong that has pace to partner Jamie. Hyppia too slow. I also like the Roma defenders Dellas and Chivu.

We need pacy wingers on both sides. Malbranque, Joe Cole (too bad he's finishing the season on a high note cause I thought he'd leave Chelsea in the summer). SWP will eat up too much of the money from Gerrard sale.

Aimar for sure can play on the left.

Looks to me like we cant afford too many changes if we dont sell Gerrard.
