I agree, only thing is then we have Szoboszlai, Gravenberch and Macca fighting for one spot. I wouldn't mind moving Macca on if we can get a good price for him. We were linked with that Sangare who Brentford ending up signing.. and he looks like a proper player. He won all his duels and created big chances aswell including a assist. I think he only cost about £40m aswell.

That's one of my main issues with the transfer policy and the players we seemingly don't scout. Why is it that other clubs, especially the smaller clubs, pick up these gems year after year, and we get linked with overpriced divas like Barcola and the other head case at PSG?

Midfield is shambolic, the 2nd goal was a joke, he just walked right through them. If we are trying to build a side I'd really consider getting a strong DM  before window shuts, even if that means missing out on a RW and Gakpo staying.

We need a legit DM, or at the very least make Gravenberch aware that if he loses the ball high up the pitch there's nobody home behind him, whenever he is dispossessed high up the opposition are free to drive a coach and horses right through the middle of our team which is exactly what Newcastle did on at least two occasions.
I'm sure Iraola would have learned a lot from yesterdays game.

We definitely need a specialist defensive midfielder. We have only two outfield players that think defensively and they are the two central defenders but our fullbacks, all midfielders and our forward line are all attack minded players. If eight of ten outfield players are attack minded we’ll always struggle to keep clean sheets. We need a proper DM to balance out the team and even then he needs to be world class to make up the difference, there is nothing  Iriola will be able to do if we don’t have balance in the team. The only actual defensive midfielder in the team is Endo but he’s too slow to be truly effective if we play a high press.

Jaquet looked really good on the ball, his passing between the lines was actually better than our midfielders [Garry Neville even picked up on his passing ability in commentary], i wonder if he could be converted to a DM and play Ronnie alongside Virgil. He looks like a frustrated midfielder to me anyway, he looked very comfortable in the opposition half with the ball at his feet.
