I have a feeling this is a mutual decision, meaning we don't get any transfer fee. Contract just ended. And that's disappointing. We got 12M for Kelleher. Didn't get near enough for Trent. Just feels like we've been mugged

End of an era.

Mo has been nothing short of world class during his time here. And he’s dragged us through some tricky games with his goals and assists.

Mo, Bobby and Mane were breathtaking to watch at times.

Wish him nothing but the best for the future.

He’s a legend.

Kind of knew he'd go in the summer.

Legend!!!

Amazing memories with Salah, apart from this season he has always been consistent. He was part of the most feared forward line, even gave Pep nightmares. We will never forget what he did for us. Part of the Golden era that took us back to the top.

YNWA Salah, Legend!

Yeah  :nod   . That's a head scratcher, surely we could have got a hefty fee for him ? Could it be some at the club (Slott ?) really wanted him to go but Mo was prepared to see out his contact unless he was allowed to just walk away for free ?
Would love to have been a fly on the wall during the conversations between Mo's agent and LFC regarding Mo's exit, conversations that reportedly began soon after Mo''s outburst post the Leeds game at the start of January.

Will be remembered as one of the best ever, a true legend. His time here had to come to an end at some point, but I'm happy with all that he helped us achieve.

I agree that it's a bit surprising that we're not trying to sell him and get a transfer fee, cause we'll definitely need the money to sign his replacement, especially if we miss out on CL our funds will be limited. Plus, everyone and their grandma will now know that we must get a new winger/forward so any club will ask for a king's ransom for any wingers we'll be interested in.

The lynch pin of Klopps success, part of a glorious partnership of Mane, Bobby and Mo who proved time and time again to be unplayable and played the most freeflowing and skillful football we've seen at Anfield in the last 40 years. Thanks Mo, good luck and you're always welcome back at Anfield.

He's one of our true greats for sure, cant wait to see Mo, Bobby and Sadio re-united in a legends game at Anfield, how emotional will that be when all 3 are on the pitch together for the first time.

I think him going out at the end of the season is perfect for him and the club. I'm guessing it was a mutual decision. He'll go down as a legend and rightfully so!! We'll miss Mo, but we have to now move forward.

Man I miss Jurgen

Excellent

As he says, easy to forget his level this year when his level dropped and the team are not doing well but his numbers speak for themselves and eventually he’ll get the recognition he deserves which was he was the best player in the world at one point but didn’t get what he deserved because of the Messi/Ronaldo soap opera.

I don’t like the timing of the announcement by Mo’s agent, it’ll be a distraction and media circus we don’t need.

I’m worried about our replacement for Mo. I remember when Suarez left most were saying (me included) good riddance, no one bigger than the club, we made him we can make another etc  but there was a real vacuum when he left. It’s easy on this year’s form we say he’s past his best but he has been instrumental in our success and how do you replace those numbers? Mo was the best player in the world within his time with us (although he didn’t get his proper recognition) and how do you replace that level of player? Players get old and lose their skills and there is no sentimentality when you are paying a player 400k per week, they have to produce but they need to be replaced by the same level if not better and that will be hard to pull off.

Our strategy when we got Mo was finding hidden gems and it was a period in the club’s history when everything clicked… the right people in charge of transfers, the right owners to pay, the right manager and the right players to fit into that system. We were battling teams with unlimited resources in addition to them cooking the books as well as always having sympathetic referees on their side but we still found success and we were a beautiful team to watch and I’m sure gained us many new supporters. We seem to be in a different mindset now, breaking transfer records and competing on salaries. The club’s ethos has changed with the expansions and extra revenues. I think we have got some gems last year but we paid top prices for them so the pressure is far greater on them to hit the ground running.

I hope the club has someone exciting lined up to replace Mo, a game changer that never gets injured and produces year on year league leading numbers, those players are certainly not easy to find.

Who knows what we will replace him with or even attempt to replace him with. Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to pull the "Chiesa" is out of Salahs shadow now!!
All i know is letting him walk away for free is just stupid.

Agreed! We will save 20-25million on his salary but cannot see why we couldn’t get at least 50m when he goes. If he goes to Saudi they could pay him 200m a year, why couldn’t they pay 50m to buy him, unless he is buying out his own contract.

It's different from when Suarez left because he was in his prime and left right after having one of the best seasons any striker has ever had in the league.

With Salah right now there pretty much already is a power vacum since he's no longer the player he used to be. A big reason why we've underperformed this season is because Salah is no longer capable of producing those crazy numbers, so it's basically the same as if he left before this season started.

I agree that it's stupid we're letting him go for free though. A Saudi team would have definitelly still paid good money for him. But he might not even go to Saudi with the current situation and all.
