I'm happy BR is the gaffer of our great club. At last someone who may well be inexperienced but is showing he is capable of leading such a great club. Early days but after 9 games we're 2nd, 2 points behind the leaders and our next game is against them. He is learning and he is getting better and better every day. Also if you look at the finances, although he's spent some cash (not a great deal though) on some players in the summer that are yet to prove themselves he has not been given a £100m war chest to go spunk over a few pre-madonnas in order to get to the top 2 or 3 places in the league. The turn around from last season is massive and from the season before the difference in the team/results is out standing!

Well done BR...    long may it continue.

Its part of the ***** kissing process while we're in the top three. If we were 16th everyone would be going on about how he should keep his mouth shut and concentrate on the job in hand.

Basically its just all a load of bollox.

I agree to a point but if he would have came out and said what you wrote then the media would have jumped all over it and that purple nosed cu'nt would have got even more publicity. Rodgers got it spot on by playing it down and subtly taking the pi'ss
I would have LOVED it, just LOVED it if someone would have said that though!

We haven't kept a clean sheet for the last seven league games and against Arsenal at their place Rodgers picks an under performing Cissokho and Flanagan who hasn't made a first team appearance for over a year to occupy two  key positions in his (currently) preferred system.

Think most of us thought "Oh f*ck" when we saw the line up.

Rodgers got it horribly wrong against Arsenal yesterday. His decision to persist with 3-5-2 when we clearly didn't have the personnel available to successfully employ it was either wildly optimistic or tactically naive .

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you, as much as I like Rodgers and think he's doing a good job he got that massively wrong.

you can see why he did it though, especially after last weeks performance against a decent side like west brom.
he was unlucky that johnson had to go to hospital ill just before the game and it shows just how much kelly is struggling to recover from his cruciate injury that the manager opted for flanno.
apart from that though that was basically the side that put in our best performance of the season (by a mile) just 7 days ago.

Sorry, Ycsat even with the points you've made I still can't understand why he did it. This was Arsenal away not West Brom at home. I appreciate that with Johnson out he had to make a late change but there where imo other (better) options to consider.

True. Don't think I haven't taken my eye off that shoddy midfield performance. However, when you play with wing backs which unlike fullbacks can support a player in front of them and overlap, the wb's are tasked to do that wing role mostly alone, neither Flanno or Cissoko are capable of that, especially attacking their fullbacks.

Their (Arsenal's) wide areas were their weakest and it needed testing, neither fullbacks did that.

There was more he could have done, start with a flat back four for starters.

whatever formation rodgers would have used we still would have got our @rses handed to us by arsenal because quite frankly at this point in time they are just a better side than us.
whatsmore they have a lot of players playing as well as they have ever done, certainly in this country anyway. ramsey looks a different player this season and i think giroud has already equalled his goal tally from the whole of last season and we are barely in november.
their keeper was a bag of nerves last season but now he`s coming out and catching every single cross (not punching like most modern keepers do) and that is a sign of someone brimming with confidence, infact i havent seen a keeper do that since the 80`s.
their back 4 doesnt look particularly impressive on paper but they are all playing well individually especially that koscenlny (spelling?), surprisingly the one player that didnt have a great game for them was ozil!
we moan about our injuries but arsenal were missing some of their big names too like wilshire, walcott and podolski.
we were just beaten by a better side on the day.

@ Ycsat, Arsenals first goal was the result of a cross. They may not have had "tricky wingers" but whenever they moved the ball down the flanks Flanagan and Cissokho were virtually invisible, Toure and Sakho were being dragged all over the place attempting to act a CB's and Fullbacks. Gerrard and Lucas have come in for a lot of criticism but given the virtual non-appearance and subsequent lack of contribution from our "wing backs" they too were forced drop into compromising positions.

I agree with KK, on flat back four, hell a straight forward 4-4-2 would have been a better option.
