But what this means is that, against the upper half of the table, we have collected a measly 5 out of a possible 27 points! That is astonishingly poor, and clearly shows where we're at as a team.
The big question is if we can improve our performances against the top-half-teams in the second half of the season. We need to try and best Everton, West Brom, Stoke and Swansea by the end of this season. Let's hope that it can happen!

And it only seems like yesterday when we beating the top teams and our season was derailed by dropping points to the cellar dwellers
Oh the irony

But that precisely makes me a little content. There's at least a method to the madness. For the past 2 years, we were consistently beating the top teams and struggling against the bottom dwellers. How does that even make any sense?! At least now we understand where we're at, and can hope we improve in the second half of the season.

One way to get out of this dilemma is to have a great scouting system where unknown gems can still be found and signed from other parts of the world. Newcastle and Swansea did a great job in signing Ba and Michu from Germany and Spain respectively. Both players are among the top scorers in the PL and they didn't cost their clubs a bomb and were relatively unknown. So I hope our scouting system can emulate them.
So far BR (Get well soon by the way) gives me the impression he mostly signs players whom he has worked with in the past like Borini (Chelsea), Allen (Swans), Siggurdson from the Swans as well but failed. He must look outside the box and not just on Buy British, a grave blunder that our previous out dated manager made.
