Name ONE player who you would bring in who is available in January who you perceive is better than Sturridge, clearly suited to the premier league, and is available for around 12 million (more or less) AND who is also willing to come to us.
So you know for a FACT that the best player we can get on the planet right now, according to your criteria is Daniel "f**king" Sturridge. Get the f**k out of here. What a ridiculous argument. I hate this self-depracting s**t that we aren't good enough to bring in quality players. There are a ton of good players we can get for 12-15 million that would be calculated risks. Sturridge is a lazy transfer based on lazy recruiting. To say for a fact that he is the best we can do right now is just wrong. Most fans know what we are going to get and for 12 million, he ain't worth it!

Until then your talk is cheap... you think that with a snap of a finger, or rather with a press of some buttons abxy, you can buy any player from any league you want as if you're playing Fifa or Winning Eleven?
Err no, another stupid pointless one line comment. As one of the biggest CLUBS in the world I expect our manager and scouting network to be spending more time in bringing in "unknown" young players rather then taking the easy way out and bringing in the likes of Sturridge.

What can I say, you are mind-bogglingly dumb to justify spending 12 MILLION on a PLAYER that HAS 6 MONTHS LEFT ON HIS CONTRACT! I haven't ruled him out, I am just questioning the money we are spending on another Henderson, Downing, Carroll "safety" type player.

Torres was probably one of Rafa's biggest risks that worked. Some times they do, some times they don't (Aqualani and Keane). This proves my point, we need to be taking more risks to catch-up to the likes of the top 4. We are getting no where signing "safety" players the Brendan feels comfortable working with. Eventually we will end up with a squad full of these players THAT WON'T TAKE US ANYWHERE.

How are we going to buy "instant" success with the budget we have compared to City or Chelsea's? If I wanted instant success I would have swapped my allegiance A LONG TIME AGO to likes of Manure of Chelsea. I have been supporting LIVERPOOL probably longer than the time your father released those tiny swimmers that created you sonny jim, so please s**t the f**k up before trying to school me on what "support" is.

Since when have Sahin, Assaidi or Yesil formed part of our main XI. A redundant argument as I pointed out before. WOW let's all look at the players outside his network THAT HAVEN'T F**KING FEATURED AT ALL THIS SEASON.

Yeah it takes a lot of bravery and effort to sign a player and then not play them.

maguskwt » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:27 am wrote:On the flip side is all these young talented foreign players often struggle to hit the ground running in the premier league and that is exactly what's happening here.
How do you actually know that when you haven't seen them play much? What about all the young talented foreign players that don't actually struggle?
maguskwt » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:27 am wrote:For every Suarez, there are dozens of others who will fail to adapt to premier league.
So you can statistically prove that for every 13 foreign players, one will adapt the other 12 will fail. What f**king horse s**t. I am really laughing now

maguskwt » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:27 am wrote:Heck even the likes of Shevchenko and Veron, who are experienced world class talents failed to adapt to the premier league.
Where they "young" foreign players? When did your criteria move? It what universe would we be signing the quality of Shevchenko and Veron for 12 million? You are just randomly giving me names of quality players that failed to make a mark. I really don't know what point you are trying to make
maguskwt » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:27 am wrote:There is clearly a directive from the owners regarding the profile of players for transfers after the amount of fortune we have squandered under Kenny and Commoli and a reasonable fan understands that under such circumstances if BR would go for talents who he is familiar with. If anything, I lay the blame on the owners. The failure to increase the offer for Dempsey shows that BR has to work within the owner's constraints and could not simply buy the players he wish. So like I said, give him time and judge him after at least one more season.
Yeah the directive is pretty clear it looks like we don't have much money to spend after the royal f**k-ups of last season. I amazed that you are able to see that Kenny squandered money on the likes of Downing, Adam, Henderson and Caroll. Yet
when it comes to the Brendan's signings we don't hear the same "impartial" views. I would say that up until this point not one of his signings has stood out and Sturridge will be more money lost and take us no where.
Not signing Dempsey was a blessing in disguise. He shouldn't be anywhere near our club, as he ain't good enough. Another one hit wonder just like Charlie Adam.
I as a fan, am allowed to comment on where we are so far and it ain't pretty. Rodgers has my full support, I don't want him to leave but I really want him to start bringing in some more calculated risks that can turn our fortunes around. Not spending our limited budget on players in his comfort zone.
