This does not bode well on Rodgers at all........

Why not?
Could you elaborate?

The point I am trying to make is that we are inconsistent.

We saw this against West Brom at the starts of the season and Villa last week.

Not sure how much more you want me to elaborate.

Rodgers needs to sort out his tactics against these types of teams as thats the only way he can mould us into a good side.

A bad day at the office doesn't mean anything, if we were losing a majority of our matches, you'd have a point. Also let's be honest, Chelsea still have an impressive squad despite a relatively poor season by their standards.

They can field brilliant talent like Oscar, Mata and Hazard in attack which makes all the difference.

A few bad day at the offices have cost us 4th so far, as we are only 2 wins behind Arsenal.

Could we have beaten sides like Villa and West Brom earlier this season, or got a result against the likes of Stoke at home. Of course of we could have.  :)

Im not disagreeing that Cheatski have a good squad, they have quality players all over the park but I am sick of our own fans putting our own squad down.

We have better players then the likes of Villa, West Brom, Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea and there is no reason why we shouldn't be beating them.

What a load of balls.

Villa have a young talented side and hence are inconsistent. Simple as that. Chelsea were good today and villa imploded. It happens.

I disagree. We are a better side then VIlla, couldnt give a s**t how young and talented they are.

Honestly they aren't that great mate, a few young players but the rest are f**king dross.

We should have beaten them last week and Brendan wasn't able to get us over the line.

This re-iterates my point above, I am sick of fans "talking up" other sides, its almost like we are accepting mediocrity when we aren't such a bad side.  :no

I feel the same way, I am still scratching my head on how we lost to them.

Players? They didn't show up?

Tactics? Did Rodgers really get it that wrong?

Before they lost to West Ham, Cheatski was in diabolically s**t form for a talented side.

Only now is Benitez starting to turn things around slowly.

Going back to my "point", have a read of my replies to everyone else above.

Oh and I am behind the manager and the players, voicing my concerns on inconsistency has nothing to do with this.......

Aston Villa was a result of sheer complacency and a touch of arrogance by our players. That was the reality check they needed. I was impressed with their response against Fulham and hopefully they'll batter Stoke City tomorrow.

This. We had so much possession we got lax in defense and Pepe should never be getting beat near post from that distance. The players were playing like they had something to prove against fulham which was encouraging. When we are better able to translate our dominate periods (i.e. first 20 minutes of the Villa side) we will start smashing teams like Villa. I don't think BR got the tactics wrong, but a combinations of arrogance, bad luck, and complacency cost us the game. Villa are an awful team and will probably finish in the bottom fourth of the table.

Teams have figured out how to set up against Buck Rodgers' "philosophy".

Just press the midfield...and the team will crumble.  ???

Reality is we have an average manager with potential who talks a good talk...

I have not seen one game this season where one can point to a complete performance; not even against Fulham...

He does not have a firm grip on his ideas for tactical organization of the team...

And what is worse is, there will be a few more games like this b/4 the holiday season is over...
Floyd stepped left and threw the hook that caught Hatton flush under the chin. Finally, the British champ had arrived in that mythical place of which his fans speak: Hatton Wonderland.

You can't blame buck. FSG are to blame. They think everything will be good & ez if they hire a young manager who has high ambition.

And look what happens ? Buck rodgers gets outwitted by tony pulis..
