a little visit to my favourite stoke city forum reveals that they've heard all about it too. they reckon a 5 million deal by friday is well on the cards. top deal - he's just the kind of tackler they need.

Regarding Adam, Stoke are reportedly favorites with a 5mill bid. Fulham could well be back in the race though for him with Noble rejecting them today. Either way, i hope we (and he) accept whatever bid that comes his way.

On Carroll, I hear we are trying to push him out to finance a possible deal for Walcott. If so, I'd be more than happy to sacrifice Carroll although it would be hard to digest given how much we paid for him. In an ideal world, Carroll would stay and we'd still put in a bid for Walcott. Hopefully the money from the sale of Adam & Spearing is put towards a bid for Walcott before committing it to the seemingly done Dempsey deal.

walcott is staying at arsenal according to the bbc news channel anyway.

We should keep hold of Adam, even if he'll only be a squad player. We seem to be selling more than buying, making the squad gradually smaller. I fear we won't have enough strength in depth unless another 2 or 3 players come in. What's happening with Dempsey?

There are better prospects in the reserves who can provide depth, and provide more generally compared to Adam.
