Reds agree terms with Adam Bogdan

Liverpool FC are pleased to announce that personal terms have been agreed with Adam Bogdan and the goalkeeper will join the club on a free transfer on July 1 after his contract with Bolton Wanderers has expired.

The 27-year-old made more than 100 appearances at Barclays Premier League and Championship level after signing for the Trotters in 2007.

Bogdan has earned 19 senior international caps for Hungary to date and is part of his country's latest squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier this weekend.

The stopper has previously lined up against the Reds twice in his career, most recently in a goalless FA Cup draw at Anfield in January.

Bogdan joins striker Danny Ings and midfielder James Milner in agreeing switches to Liverpool, subject to medicals, ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

The reserve keeper isn't a big issue for me and Bogdan is twice the keeper of Brad Jones.

If anything we needed a new No1 but I don't think the club value the position enough to commit the money required to
sign a top goalie.

Why is everyone moaning (AGAIN) about this signing???? We needed a reserve keeper as Brad Jones has gone and we have just got one without spending any of our transfer budget - This is exactly the thing we need at no cost to the club...

This lad isn't any better than brad jones mate. What we needed was someone who could push mingolet and bogdan won't do that. He isn't even boltons 1st choice and we are supposed to be delighted just because he was on a bosman.

That's how I see it too, I've been as critical as anyone over this policy of ours of trying to compete with the the top clubs on the cheap but if there is one area where we can save one or two quid its reserve keeper.
Yes Mingolet does need competition but atm I think getting more creativity into the team is more of a priority

The amount of our fans accepting mediocrity is also unbelievable! I'm in shock, we should be looking for an UPGRADE on Mignolet, not a backup for Mignolet. Our no.1 SHOULD BE our no.2 if we have any chance in challenging for top honors.

Nobody associated with the transfer system seems to learn anything, last year it was quantity over quality, this year..... well, It's getting more like a Mike Bassett parody by the day.......... who next Benson & Hedges, it beggars belief it really does.
