We might as well use him as back up and then let him go on a free transfer when his contract expires. Joe Cole has always been a useful 'impact player'.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brendan Rodgers latest quotations about not overspending and always making sure he gets value for money, that's made more confident in his management because the last thing we need is another disastrous spending spree like we had last summer which in turn led to a rather indifferent season last season. My guess is Rodgers will be looking to sign a lot of youngsters and is prepared to go down divisions to get them because let's face it, there is some bright young talent in the lower divisions - Walcott, Bale and Oxlade-Chamberlain are just three of the more prominent ones.

If Rodgers can reverse the twenty year trend of overpaying for mediocrity then we'll have taken one massive step forwards to a brighter future. This club will never win the league if it continues to throw hundreds of millions down the drain on stop-gap players, medicore players on massive wages or sick-notes, so hopefully this culture of wasting vast quantities of money both on transfers and wages will stop under Brendan.

All-in-all the man is saying all of the right things so far and I'm thoroughly enjoying the brand of football we're playing and I cannot wait for the West Brom match. Hopefully we'll continue our winning ways, as winning breeds confidence, something this club has lacked in the last three years.

They're the three prominent ones that spring to mind in the last six years or so. People said that Wenger was crazy to pay £12m for Walcott and £12m for Oxlade-Chamberlain, but both footballers are still going from strength to strength and Walcott looked a lot better last season than he ever has in an Arsenal shirt, I know they've had to wait around five years for such a development, but I figure that Walcott will have a very productive season ahead of him.

Gareth Bale is one of Spurs' most important players along with Luka Modric, I bet there were a section of Spurs fans who scoffed at Bale's signing when he arrived.

so far its 9 players out and two in, in my view we need a hell of a lot more players coming in to be a better side than we was last year.

credit where it`s due it looks like his friendship with mourinho was a crucial factor in sahin coming here, apparently sahin wanted to move to the more cosmopolitan london but mourinho and alonso talked him out of it.

I'm not really sure players like Darby, Silva and Rafferty count in terms of first team squad Lakes - stretching the boundaries a little

We have let go 3 main guys from the 1st team last season and they have been replaced by 2 signings and a returning loan player

Immaterial to your point you were trying to make.

You were trying to make out that we have stripped the first team bare when that's false - the numbers in the first team are the same as last year.

lol your reading too  much into my post this time mate, i fear that even last years team needed a hell of a lot of work done on it and dont see any of the players that have left so far are going to be missed apart from Kuyt.

but i do feel we need to buy top players from top clubs to make a real go at it this season.

but i was just in fact asking have we ever had a player come back from loan that has turned out to be a great player for us, i just cant think of one?
