That today from Dalglish has left me completely deflated about his management.
The awful subs (brings on Bellamy as late as the 88th minute)
The awful signings... adam, carroll (i get angry thinking about him), henderson.
We are no further forward than the day Rafa left us in June 2010 (except we have a worse team and are out about 60 million).
We can compare the teams then to now, we can compare the points then to now.. we are down on both.
When u spend 35milllion on a forward with no pedigree, you deserve to get hammered. The fact a player who cost 35m is no more than a fixture on the bench should be enough to send alarm bells ringing among the owners.
We spent a fortune on average british players. As far as im concerned that is sackable.
I have lost it with Kenny today. Doing nothing at 1-1 when we need a goal, and then putting on Bellamy in the 88th minute.. was bordering on lunacy. Say what u like about whiskey nose, but can u imagine him doing nothing for 88 minutes with his team 1-1 at home? It aint happening. He has the bottle to go for it, sacrifices defenders if needs be.
Mourinho would come to us i have no doubt (Ian McGarry has said as much).. there would be no bizarre tactics, no cr@p signings, no sitting back and watching the game pass u by then acting with 2 minutes normal time to go.
Mourinho is one of the most defensive managers in modern day football.
If you're hoping that his appointment would make the difference in terms of games like today I'm afraid you're in for a disappointment.
Mourinho's teams.
Two seasons at Porto most goals by a mile.
Chelsea 2004/05 72 goals - 2nd in the league
Chelsea 2005/06 72 goals - 1st in the league
Chelsea 2006/07 64 goals - 2nd in the league
Inter 2008/09 70 goals - 1st in the league
Inter 2009/10 75 goals - 1st in the league
Real Madrid 2010/11 102 goals - 1st in the league
Real Madrid 2011/12 80 goals - 1st in the league
Liverpool 2011/12 30 goals (in 26 games) - 12th in the league
Yes.. Mourinho's appointment would clearly disappoint me, and wouldn't be any different than today (and all season).
Kerry07 wrote:your opinion
I'm quoting Ian McGarry, a close friend of his.
To also sum up why he finds us appealing;
Porto - nothing in Europe for 2 decades... wins the UEFA Cup in 2003, Champions League in 2004
Chelsea - nothing in the league for 5 decades... wins back to back league titles
Inter - nothing in the European Cup for 4 decades.. wins the Champions League in 2010
Real Madrid - nothing in the league for 3 years (an eternity)..against arguably the best club team ever (whom he also hates).... almost certainly La Liga winners 2012
Liverpool - nothing in the league for 2 decades....
Mourinho goes to Man U.. big deal.. leagues galore before. Chelsea.. big deal..won it twice before. Spurs.. not big enough club. Arsenal..is Wenger.
Mourinho knows the support is massive, loves the atmosphere of Anfield,. "i felt the power" etc etc... he knows he would get tremendous acclaim here, and to win the league would give him godlike status (i dont give a damn what u think of him right now). The achievement would stand out just like the others. We have owners who gave Dalglish 100m... Mourinho would take that challenge.
Kerry07 wrote:Mourinho wouldnt have 39 points after 26 games. Mourinho has never had.. 39 points after 26 games.
10 years of complete winning. He is a winner.

Anti-Liverpool propaganda is condoning mediocrity.
When Kenny was appointed my biggest fear is that he would be nigh on untouchable. Hes King Kenny, arguably the clubs greatest ever player, then had 5 years of successful management, great leadership during the Hillsborough disaster.. etc etc...so any critique of him would be frowned upon. That is what has happened. I didnt live through that era so i dont have the emotional attachment/nostalgia etc. I appreciate what hes done before, but this is 2012.
If Roy Hodgson had signed Andy Carroll... imagine the abuse he would be receiving on forums, radio phone ins etc etc.
But as Kenny did, its different rules.
To have no criticism for a team that is 7th, 39pts from 26 games, 4 wins at home and its March, spent 100m, 70m on three british players, and are the 12th lowest goalscorers in the league with 30 goals in 26 games...to overlook that is anti-Liverpool.
