Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I firstly thought we played well enough yesterday to win the game.
Even Kewell had a good game. Well done the Midfield.
When i saw the line up before the game I was a little puzzled.
My first thought was that morientes would really struggle, and he did.
Not because he isnt good enough but because in my opinion if a manager chooses to pack the midfoeld then the striker must have alot of pace.
Or he will be marked out of the game.
I would of expected Cisse or even Pongolle to start.
But then again i aint the manager.
But anyway well done Liverpool yesterday.

(i hope cisse stays and the manager gives him a chance sooner rather than latter, the guy has talent, he deserved a go yesterday in my opinion)

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.        BILL SHANKLY

Many people may have questioned why he changed to this formation which seems to be his favourate when the 442 worked well against Saprissa. Well the answer is he got the tactics spot on, We controlled the game and the stats for the match show it. 21 shots 17 corners. Sao Paolo didnt even have a shot on after the goal. On another day we would have come back in that match and won by 3 or 4 but it was not to be. Rafa got it right but luck did not happen for us this time.

i agree we did play them off the park.
but since this is a discussion forum.
i just think in my opinion morientes was the wrong man for the job, up front on his own. He needs someone to play off, to get the  space he needs.
As he isnt the quickest around.
i thought this before we kicked off, i would have said it if we had won 5-0

Morientes doesn't have the pace. Cisse needs to be paired with Crouch and given more game time. I also want to see Sinama-Pongolle more time in the first team.
