I'm not seeing your point at all, other than the "I don't like Carroll" point which we're all very aware of. Our team in the 80's wasn't made up of world class individuals. It was made up of little known players with potential among other things. It was about chemistry. Finding the right players, not the BEST players. I think half a season is too early to be judging. If you think that's how it works, just buying a load of players for whatever price and sticking them together to achieve instant success...well, you need to get back to playing FM. It very rarely works that way in reality.

Sorry, edited my previous post. Trying to point out the difference between "world class" and "legend". Great players don't make great teams and great teams don't nessercarily (however that's spelled) make great players. There's much more to it than that.

Sum of the parts... if thats what u are getting at.. i agree thats vital... but the parts have to be good for the sum to be.

If we were sitting 1st, 2nd, 3rd.. or even 4th.. then u would have an argument that adam and carroll may not be great individually, but they are effective in the sum. However we aint in any of those positions.

Rush, Lawrenson, Hansen etc kept us at the top. adam, carroll keep us in 7th.

Have you forgotten we're rebuilding? How can the current players keep us at the top? We're not at the top. We have to get there first!

why is it whenever we get a penalty nobody seems to know who is responsible for taking the thing, we seem disorganised, no wonder we we miss them.

Are we allowed to criticise KK ?

Seriously...why does KK has to be so miser with the substituitions ?

Against arsenal...where we need to win, he brings on bellamy in the 83rd min ?

With his insistance on picking adam, henderson & downing even though they have performed like cr@p this season...no wonder we are struggling in the league.

Anyway I just can't see us getting a champions league place if KK continues with picking subpar players over and over again when we have better players on the bench.

Kuyt should take the penalty whenever he is on the pitch. But Adam had to snatch the ball immediately when suarez was fouled.  :veryangry

I've alway supported Kenny, and I always will, but he made some serious mistakes today.  very late and pointless subs when Adam was clearly underperforming the entire game.  He refuses to give Maxi any more chances as well, and we've all seen what he's capable when he actually gets play time.

Carroll could have easily started this game.  We needed to attack them and have somebody else in the box, and we didn't have that.  Thought Hendo was poor again, although he did have random spurts of play that led to some really big contributions.

Very disappointed.  KK needs to get this stuff sorted or we'll keep dropping stupid points.

On the basis of today's performance I don't think we can really criticise KK. We dominated the entire game, had 13/14 corners to Arsenal's 0, hit the woodwork twice and missesd a penalty.

I actually feel sorry for the boys. To a man they bust their guts today and played very well. We were beaten by 2 slack bits of defending from Carra and 2 great finishes from RVP.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the timing of the subs myself.

*Note* Carra + Carroll should never be in the same team.

If the owners are deadly serious about last weeks win on pens against Cardiff as being "just the start".... then Jose Mourinho has to be top of their list.

That today from Dalglish has left me completely deflated about his management.
The awful subs (brings on Bellamy as late as the 88th minute)
The awful signings... adam, carroll (i get angry thinking about him), henderson.

We are no further forward than the day Rafa left us in June 2010 (except we have a worse team and are out about 60 million).

We can compare the teams then to now, we can compare the points then to now.. we are down on both.

When u spend 35milllion on a forward with no pedigree, you deserve to get hammered. The fact a player who cost 35m is no more than a fixture on the bench should be enough to send alarm bells ringing among the owners.

We spent a fortune on average british players. As far as im concerned that is sackable.

I have lost it with Kenny today. Doing nothing at 1-1 when we need a goal, and then putting on Bellamy in the 88th minute.. was bordering on lunacy. Say what u like about whiskey nose, but can u imagine him doing nothing for 88 minutes with his team 1-1 at home? It aint happening. He has the bottle to go for it, sacrifices defenders if needs be.

Mourinho would come to us i have no doubt (Ian McGarry has said as much).. there would be no bizarre tactics, no cr@p signings, no sitting back and watching the game pass u by then acting with 2 minutes normal time to go.

Downing and Adam need dropping and to know that lacklustre performances wont be accepted. I don't think it will encourage our youth players to see such performances rewarded by extended runs in the team. Then we have Carroll who's steadily improving and he gets dropped to the bench...again! And of course we have Carragher starting whilst young Coates sits on the bench. Strange.

You've probably got a valid point there... Carroll has that effect on Carra.  Turns him from the hoof-master to the super hoof-master supreme.

lad, Kenny WONT dropped them, because they're his players.  Carroll hasn't improved either, he's rubbish and the fact Kenny didn't bring him on until the 93rd min says it all.

We're a mid table team and nothing will change until we clear out the cr@p that Kenny brought in.  Thing is, can we do that without clearing Kenny out either?
